DopestepTJ: There are a lot of YouTube videos to help you learn the guitar. I started learning acoustic in February this year and I'm pretty good at it, although I'm still learning. You'll need to spend a lot of time everyday if you really want to learn it forget about playing to songs and learn all the major and minor chords and know how to place your fingers without looking at the fretboard first. Seriously if you put in a lot of practice, you'll find it easy but quite frustrating sometimes. Learning the guitar is a long journey some people have been playing for 30 years but still learn new things every year. I'm learning the fingerstyle technique of playing now and it's very interesting.U got it.It can b somtymz frustrating.Had 2 leave it 4 nw.Well, stil @chord tho nd also tryn 2 master aw 2 play witout lookin@d fretboard...Altho,I learn wit Numbaz buh dey arnt elpin d situatn. Can any1 suggest a way 2 go abh it without focusin on d fret 4 support... |

Abosi31: I play the guitar. I am well to do now in chords but my issue is soloing. I haven't staredf yet with that, but imma be needing some advice from seniors here. Thanks :-) music is the same... only medium of play changes when u talk abt the guitars.. the guitar is quite easier musically as u have to deal with the treble.clef only unlike the grand staffing of the piano. chording before soloing is strange. u get chords from the combination of notes. u should be able to randomly play these notes before u chose chords. that way u would outgrow chord books. look for a tutor around. that could help u with the basics.. teaching open strings , first position, the science of.chords .for example a major chord is ur 1 3 5 while a minor chord is ur 1 b3 5. knowing that 1 is ur tonic 3 is ur mediant and 5 is ur perfect 5th. basic knowledge like that is priceless look.for a tutor around u. my advice 1 Like |

Pls i need help if u ask experienced guitarist, we still feel pain.. but the truth is, unconsciously u make it worse when putting so much force on the fingers , the pressure and all.. when i started my hands were peeling and pains everyday.. once u can master the least amount of pressure u can apply to produce a clean sound then u have conquered more than half the pain. the try alternating.ur.chords besides a chord might jsut be two notes.. ur 1st and 3rd .. 5th is optional . u can vary. in position and pitch. and intensity too. more grace brother |

emmy120: Hold on key F....from neck of the guitar.....ur 1st finger will hold string one and two...ur 2nd finger hold string three...ur 3rd finger hold the string four.....that is doh chord on key F Yeah but this is not the proper F though (F major). You wouldn't be able to play F-minor or F7th playing like that. Another F chord is put your first finger on the first fret on the B string, second finger on the second fret of the G string, then 3rd finger on the third fret of the D string. and only strum the D,G,and B string. Thats also an F chord. |

Can you tell me the sound quality of this guitar? Have you compared your playing on this guitar with other brands like FENDER, YAMAHA, SHURE and CORT? |

These are the variants of the open chords I love playing. Can someone try it out? Here it goes: Bm: X20230 Asus: X02230 Cadd9: 032033 G: 320033 D2: X00230 Em: 022033 By the way, I love having the first two strings held while playing open Cm, G and Em chords. |

TonySpike: I'm still not playing scales fully, started learning though. Seems my short fingers is a disadvantage for mehahahahahaha!!!! Ur short fingers are not ur problem. 1. Relax 2. Be flexible 3. Start running ur scale slowly with accurate finger's positioning from 4th string maybe from F major key. |

If someone here can give me some chord progressions for Nigerian songs I would really appreciate it. If not chords, notes, and the progression. I play rock and blues music but trying to get familiar with Nigerian. I beg you, someone here must know some Nigerian music on the guitar. |

Very interesting topic. Here goes some useful tips. 1. Lead Guitar is mainly about tricks, the more tricks you know, the better you play. To start with, learning complete chords of six strings may weigh you down and eventually you loose interest. The best approach when it comes to understanding and perfecting your chords is what i call Trick 1. Solution- Start with quarter chords, graduate to half chords and then move to full chords. This approach doesn't only help you in mastering your chords but also helps you when you start taking solos or interludes. NOTE- Notes can add up to make quarter chords and then half and finally full chords. Feel free send mails to esheky@yahoo.com for practical lectures ( e go cost you o) cheers. |
