Denn: This story cannot be logically true.

Thieves won't be so stupid to maintain a stolen vehicles identity and even fellowship in church with same vehicle.

I believe the guy confessed after 'proper interrogation '

He could have bought the vehicle which was obviously stolen.

After much beating by policemen, he confessed.

This case will lose credibility in court once this guy can prove his alibi.

Don't accept such emotional stories without proper analysis...

A thief can't be more foo'lish. That church must be a celestial one where all sorts of open roguery goes on.

Kudos to the police for being able to track thieves sometimes with their crude operational intelligence network.

adamooye5: Robber takes car to pastor for blessing, police nab him in church

By TheHerald Admin on October 21, 2013

A man, Yinka Oyeniran, who was nabbed after he kept a Toyota Camry snatched by his gang members in a church has been remanded in prison custody after his case was charged to court last Friday.

Forty-five-year old Oyeniran was arraigned in Magistrates’ Court 2, Iyaganku, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery. He was accused of conspiring with others at large to dispossess a woman of her Toyota Camry car with registration number LSR 292 AT in Ibadan, along with other valuables.

Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, had told journalists recently that Oyeniran was arrested in his church in Gbongan, Osun State through the collaborative efforts of policemen from Oyo and Osun States who laid ambush for him after they traced a car that was snatched in Ibadan, Oyo State, to the church premises.

Though Oyeniran attended church regularly and deceived members of his church at Akinlalu junction in Gbongan, that he was a fervent and devout Christian, God proved to him that He cannot be mocked as his criminal acts became exposed through the car he kept in the church premises.

Oyeniran, an indigene of Gbongan but who farms in Modakeke town, also in Osun State, had told his pastor and members of the congregation to rejoice with him over the purchase of a Tokunbo Toyota Camry car. Unknown to the pastor, however, Oyeniran and his four-member gang had snatched the car from a woman in Ibadan.

Crime Reports gathered that the four-man gang which operated with the use of motorcycles, trailed their victim from a fellowship centre to her residence at Kute Wofun area of the city with an unregistered red Honda motorcycle on August 10 at 9p.m., and robbed her of the car valued at N1.3million.

Not only that, the armed robbers reportedly collected the woman’s handsets, handbag, Blackberry valued N67,000, jewellery valued at N100,000 and a sum of N120,000 cash. Unfortunately for the armed robbers, the car was tracked to Oyeniran’s church where he hid it. Crime Reports learnt that Oyeniran was forced to push the car into the church premises when it stopped working after it was demobilised.

In an interview with Crime Reports when the accused was paraded by the Oyo State Police Command, he mentioned his gang members as Taiye Victor, Tunde, an okada rider and another man whose name he claimed he did not know.

The accused also revealed that he had gone for robbery on two or three occasions but denied ever using a gun, saying that the guns they were using belonged to other members.

Describing how the operation was carried out, Oyeniran had said that it was Taiye who held the gun while he held a pipe they used in threatening their victim. He also said he was the one who collected their victim’s money, handsets as well as car key while Taiye demanded for the original documents of the car and removed its number plates. He however said he tore the documents into shreds and threw them into the bush on the way to Gbongan so as to avoid the scrutiny of policemen on the highway.

Before Oyeniran confessed his deeds, he had initially denied snatching the car, telling the police that he bought the vehicle for N1million from Taiye who purchased it from Cotonou in Republic of Benin. The accused said he paid N200,000 upfront and gave an additional N300,000 when the car was brought, claiming that he was still owing Taiye a balance of N500,000.

Other items recovered from the suspect, according to the PPRO, included  one unregistered red Honda motorcycle, one red Nissan Sunny car with registration number AP 406 SGB, a bunch of keys  and a rectum cable wire

The sitting magistrate in Court 2, Mrs Oyediran, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till November 19, 2013.

Knowing Nigerian police inside out, the emboldened above is the true account of what really happen. The accuse was only over-tortured to agree to what he didn't do. Let's all just pray we don't get caught up in some real shit like this... once the Nigerian police take you into their 'theatre room', you will willingly script out a terrible self-implicating story just to safe yourself from the pain you're undergoing.

The truth is that, this guy unfortunately bought a stolen vehicle. Period!

Zumarocket: HEADLINE:Robber takes car to pastor for blessing, police nab him in church
..

NEWS it self: Crime Reports learnt that Oyeniran was forced to push the car into the church premises when it stopped working after it was demobilised

what a contradiction

No contradiction my friend, though l wish he did not have to force the hand of god by "pushing it into" the church premises! grin

1.) Car was snatched at gun point and driven away.

2.) Owner proceeded to "demobilize" the car (l think you know what that means ..... the car had an "immobilizer" installed and it works via gsm network and start "tracking" it! You go pay me for that one o!!

3.) The effect of two (2) above, happened as our "Brother prayer warrior and tither" was about to enter his shushii! shocked Car refuse to drive any further

4.) make yaawaa no-bust, "Brother" come push car enter Shuushii-compound!

5.) Him come do "thanksgiving" (and you no say Pastor don 'identify' im own share now, as 'flenti-flenti feefle' come line-up to dey dance and do "thanks-giving offering"! Dem no dey tire )

6.) But everyday for the thief, today na today for owner grin grin Alarm don blow!

Question: would it not have been better and morally-right before God, if our Pastors are bold enough (l know say kontiri hard and Pastors must wack! wink ) to just question anyone declaring surplus, in church?

Simple Kweshion: "Brother Lastpage", can you explain to this congregation where you got the money to buy this vehicle ... before we proceed to bless it and do thanksgiving?

That cant be too much to ask now, abi?
See as dem come bring disgrace to house of "war-sheep" shocked

I understand where you are coming from but trust me, the best way to hide something is to leave it in the open!
Its just logical that when our things get lost, we actually go on looking for it where "we think" it was hidden! grin grin
That thief get sense pass anybody but he was just out of luck that the vehicle has a "tracker installed".
How on earth would you dare look for a stolen item "in Shooshi"? ... of all places?

As for his story of buying it, its very simple: Take Police to Taiye the seller and let him come out and boldly say: I sold it to him. wink
Ofcourse, Taiye is under obligation to take us to where he also bought the car and the particulars he was given and by whom...

That is what l expect the Police to thrash out but knowing how stewpid and unintelligent they are, they will simply slap the thief. Gbooozaa! shocked shocked grin

The true God cannot be mocked, that Pastor should be treated as an "accomplice".

bee444: How many more 'supposed' Christians are involved in similar shady deals, Millions I suppose? He was caught, period!
Many thieves go to church and parade their ill-gotten wealth and Pastors still bless them. This has been the trend and will continually be wink. Pastors dislike broke brothers, therefore broke brothers would want to impress 'M.O.G'

Do anything for money and you shall be a friend to Pentecostal pastors wink
My brother, if you were in their shoes, there's nothing you can do about it. Do you expect them to query how matured men (who can even be older) got their money? I have treated this issue before; we easily criticize them but it is not that easy especially when the members are not their children.
