Mallam Wahab Seidu, a resident
of Jericho, an Ashaiman suburb
and a popular spiritualist in the
area reportedly raped a 17-year-
old girl and shaved her private
parts.
According to report, the victim had confided
in one of the Mallam's wife who happened
to be her friend about her problems. The
woman perhaps disclosed the issue to her
husband who decide to use the information
to his advantage.
Mallam Wahab met the victim in the area and
immediately started mentioning her
problems to her one after the other and told
her that her relationship disappointments
was the result of a spiritual marriage. The
victim was surprised and believed Mallam
Wahab to be a powerful spiritualist, adding
that the Mallam, after stating the problems
asked her to bring her pubic hair, vaginal
fluid, sperms, cotton, cosmetic powder and
an amount of GH¢100, so he would prepare
a spiritual concoction for some rituals to
solve her problems.
The victim, a Senior High School leaver who
was desperate to have a man, had managed
to produce some of the items except the
sperms and pubic hair, which Mallam Wahab
assured her of getting.
He allegedly lured the victim to a guest
house where he had sexual intercourse
with her, in the alleged bid to get the
sperm and vaginal fluid to perform the
ritual, which would help her get a husband.
After the sexual act, the victim asked the
Mallam about solutions to her family
problems, and the Mallam scheduled another
meeting at the same guest house with a
new set of items to resolve the family
problems.
Mallam Wahab was said to have met the
victim again at the guest house where he
had sexual intercourse with her after
shaving her private parts.
The victim became worried after sometime
as her problems still persisted and therefore
decided to disclose her ordeal to her mother
who then accompanied her to lodge a
complaint at the Ashaiman Divisional branch
of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support
Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Service.
Mallam Wahab was, on October 17 picked
up by the Police and brought to the DOVVSU
station where he was said to have admitted
to the act during police interrogation.
