After studying the above passage l began to wonder and ask. Was jesus driven into the widerness after being baptised by john just to be tempted by satan?

The spirit drove jesus into the widerness to receive revelation and not to be tempted by the devil.

Moses receive the revelation of his ministry in the widerness

Paul the same
Jesus the same.

the question is, what is the revelation jesus received in the widerness?

And after he has fasted for 40 days and 40 night, the devil came tempting him. And said, " if you are the son of God, command that these stones be made bread".

what did james said about temptation?

We are tempted when we are drawn away of our own lust (desire) and enticed.

Jesus knew he was the son of God as most of us do know, but the revelation of the power, authority and benefits accrued to a son of God was not yet known to jesus and how to tap into it.

The devil capitalized on this desire of jesus to prove the received revelation to tempt him. Jesus knew better.

If we know what jesus knew, the ten commandment will not be hard to keep.
