Twists are also good for kids and those starting their locks but they require attention as they unlock quickly.

Have patience as your natural texture grows in, try not to put any heat or chemicals and use natural hair products like Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Coconut oil to detox your hair from chemical abuse. Use rollers and air dry your hair. It takes time!

I love this look, long dreads looks like one helluva work and seems painful when pleated.

Apart from the locs, you can still do most of the styles especially if you have voluminous hair.

If your hair can be pulled up in a bun, you can use Marley hair or afro kinky hair to make it bigger.

Christine01: Please how do I go about wearing dreadlocks?

I had to cut my shoulder-length hair about 2 months ago because it had become weak from relaxers and heat. I now carry my hair very short (like a boy). I'm loving the look ( makes me standout). I really want to try dreadlocks (Tired of weaveons). How do I go about it?

Any dreadlock carrying sister in the house? Pls help!

There's a beauty salon in Poise in Ikeja shopping mall that does locs including interlocking locs...that's if you reside in Lagos.
Unfortunately, I've lost the contact of the owner.

Another place to check out is O'naturals Salon in Ogudu area.

Dreadlocks r not just an hairstyle but a journey cos along d line, u'd xperience frustration, rude comments, insults, etc. If u want locs, see a very gud loctician. Or if u want d organic or freeform locs, stop combing ur hair. Plus, neva allow a stylist use egg, clay, petrolatum, beeswax, toothpaste, etc., on ur locs. Wash ur hair every month, use natural hair oils nd keep your hair clean. I've had locs for almost 14months now n I'm not goin back! Hope I helped?

now i'm going to cut my hair...pls where do i get that ecostyler?
Okies!!i already cut my hair..but i don't know how to take care of it...that's just my issue,i don't even comb or brush it for days..don't know what to do with it..
Re: Wedding Hairstyles Gallery For Natural Hair by msogey(f): 10:01pm On Nov 13, 2013
I really want to loc my hair but i here its expensive to maintain especially at the beginning stage. if this is true, like how much would i need for the initial stage of my dreadlock journey? Should i just wait till i have enough money in my account before starting my dreadlocks journey?(i'm still a student)

Secondly, i have a relaxed ear-length hair but i presently have lots of undergrowth. do u think i should cut my hair before locking or would it loc regardless?
BTW, i'm based in Lagos.
