Sometimes mob action is highly justified. He ra'p'ed the lady and gave her HIV but tomorrow, the doctor will pay the police and he will become a free man. Nonsense law

Is there a possibility that the victim would not contract HIV? To those that are knowledgeable about the subject: Does intercourse with an infected person necessarily lead to infection, 100% of the time? If no, what are the odds that one might avoid the virus in spite of unprotected intercourse with a carrier?

Na real wa.

It is not likely he acted on account of his status (be it fetish or malicious). That state is known to have a high prevalence of HIV anyway. I think this happened because he thought he could do it and get away with it. And there is no way this would be his first time. Most rape victims are too embarrassed to talk about it.

I hope he chose his victim with care because some family members will be waiting for him to get out of prison before they exact their own pound of flesh.

Not 100% of the time. Women are more vulnerable to infection than men.

There is a chance the patient won't get infected if she's put on post exposure prophylaxis right away. No guarantees tho.

How did he do it? The patient wasn't wearing cloth? Nigerian hospital that no private room, evrybody sees everbody. How did they know about it since she was not conscious. If she was the one that reported why did she not fight him, scream for help?

. Because until the man is pronounced guity by a reputable court of law he remains a suspect even with most obvious evidence(s). @topic may God save us. The poor girl got to the hospital with just 2 kg of ailment but was given a"take away" of 10000 kg of disease.

Thankfully, it doesn't. . .and here's a shocking statistic: Its actually less than 1%!!. However, a lot of factors could affect that number, and include presence of infections (other STIs), sores on private area, viral load of the individual, and whether he/she is on ARVs, number of encounters, risk status, etc, etc.

The man is said to be a doctor and is currently on ARVs. That's a good sign. There is therefore the possibility that the viral level in his body will be low and this reduces the chances of him passing on the virus to the unfortunate victim. And like someone said, male to female transmission is slightly lower than the other way round.

I would say the odds are pretty low from this single encounter.

Being a graduate he ought not to do so because he went to university and obtained a certificate which says he's sound both in character and learning, or is it just fallacy?.
