My dad went to be with the Lord early 2010. Till now the federal government is yet to pay the Group Life Benefit.

The Group Life Assurance Scheme is a statutory provision of Section 9(3) of the Pension Reform Act, 2004, which requires that all employers with not less than five employees must maintain life assurance policy in favour of each employee for a minimum of three times of the employee’s annual emolument.The scheme provides that in the event of the death of any serving officer, his next of kin will be given a relief three times the annual total emolument of the deceased, in addition to the normal entitlement of the deceased officer after service.

The group life assurance is handled by the office of the head of service of the federation, staff welfare department.
This is something that aught to bring succur to the families of staffs that went to be with the Lord while in active service. But now since 2010 people are still waiting. Can u imargine how many children have droped out of school? How many widdows have died? The suffering of many even though they have money they are entitled to them somewhere.

Pls I want to know if there is anyone in this forum waiting for group life or has been paid. Pls lets meet here and share information.
