take dat: I am sure all your lobbying and heckling of our lawmakers with disparaging comments and abuses have not made them to cut their satanic allowances. Suppose, the conference comes out with a recommendation that we do not need a bi-cameral legislature, you think your lobbying or heckling will make them approve a referendum that may jeopardize their entrenched positions? Guy, you are far distant from reality. Those folks there will never agree to anything that will challenge or threaten the status quo. In other words, what you are proposing is a constitutional amendment.
Heckling & lobbying got us THIS national conference no matter how "flawed" some people think it is. The hue and cries of Nigerians over our assembly members allowances has gotten the attention of the assembly members & the RMAFC who have promised to look into such evil aggrandisement by the next coming budget though we still have to keep focus and make sure something is really done about it, i personally have always been an advocate of a 70% reduction in all emoluments accruable to NA members or better still a "pay as you sit" stipend & i wont change mouth now or ever. We currently operate a bi - cameral legislature, what we need rather is a slightly expanded uni - cameral legislature which will drastically cut down the 150 billion naira being spent on assembly members annually & it is our duty as Nigerians to make sure that a minute section of the society stops r@ping us with their selfishness. All i say is that a minority of about 600 - 700 people can never hold 150 million + people hostage once we decide to drop ethnic & religious rivalries used by the political elite to keep us busy while they loot & starve us dry. Funny thing is even our so called "progressives" in both chambers see nothing wrong in their satanic allowances SMH. A referendum will surely lead to a constitutional amendment.

Who needs Yorubas there. Hausa/Fulani can speak for them. Even if they agree on anything there, once a Yoruba man is involved, u can kiss the agreement goodbye if he so wishes. They have a chameleon approach to everything.

I am pained by the ingenuity of the so called NC, I will so love GEJ for life and make him my top best Nigerian president if he is SINCERE about the implementation of the NC final report that would be presented and ensuring that he does not give the national assembly the power to approve or disapprove the report. He should realize that the voice of the people is greater than that of the National assembly. We have the final say and we don't expect the national assembly to rubbish the collective decision of the people. The NC is the best for this country but do Mr president have the balls to ensure that it is implemented?

Will Jonathan not be going out of constitutional provisions if he so much decided/ensured that the committee's recommendations DID NOT get to NASS for approval??

JMOI: Yoruba have lost out in the scheme of things in Nigeria because of their inborn tribalism.

Hope you won't cry AWOL when Gej leaves power?
Even if it is your desired 2019.
Learn to play politics sensibly.
Because this time of self aggrandizement won't last forever.
You will still need others you know.

Of course, we cannot bye pass the NASS, the lawmakers must be carried along. What is needed from them is to create an enabling law to set up a national conference and an enabling Act that permits for a referendum. We cannot guarantee that if the recommendations were to be sent to the NASS for incorporation into the constitution, that it won't be mutilated or tampered with. If what the President muted, and being echoed by our lawmakers is anything to go by, it will be another jamboree because a leopard cant change its spot.

Well, the reply to your post is in today's Vanguard. Those folks do not give a fvck about any conference. They just want to keep us busy while they continue to plunder our wealth without prying eyes.

what if we all decided to invest the same amount of time and energy spent on the Stella Oduah wahala on our assembly members. We cant allow a tiny group of people bleed us dry in the name of "due process" and that was why i played the devils advocate during the minister's debacle but if we still decide to keep quiet then we shall just have to accept what ever they do. Remember, the NA members decide their own salaries and its not supposed to be so, we should'nt allow it stand except we enjoy the travesty or 255 million is greater than 150 billion.
