Iran Missile Test Sends Message To Us, Israel by kosovo(m): 5:11am On Jul 10, 2008
TEHRAN, Iran - Iran test-fired nine missiles Wednesday, including ones capable of hitting Israel, making a dramatic show of its readiness to strike back if the United States or Israel attacks it over its nuclear program.

The launches sparked strong U.S. criticism and a jump in oil prices — underlining fears Iran might seal off the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf waterway through which 40 percent of the world's crude passes, if military conflict does break out.

The tests of the long- and medium-range missiles did not appear to mark a significant advance in Iran's missile capability — similar ones have been tested previously. But the timing and location were clearly aimed to send a message, coming as Iran has sharply stepped up the tone of its warnings of retaliation if attacked. This week, a top official of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Ali Shirazi, warned Tel Aviv would be "set on fire" in any Iranian retaliation.

The tests took place amid a military exercise that Iran has been conducting in the Hormuz strait, where Tehran has threatened to block oil traffic in response to any U.S. or Israeli military action.

State TV aired footage of at least six missiles being fired simultaneously, and said the barrage included a new version of the Shahab-3 missile, which officials have said has a range of 1,250 miles and is armed with a 1-ton conventional warhead. That would put Israel, Turkey, the Arabian peninsula, Afghanistan and Pakistan within striking distance. The TV report did not say whether the test took place near the Hormuz strait.

Iran has long warned it would strike back for any attack against it. But it has sharpened its rhetoric since Israel's military sent warplanes over the eastern Mediterranean in June for a large military exercise that U.S. officials described as a possible rehearsal for a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

The other missiles tested included the Zelzal, versions of which have a range of 130-185 miles, and the Fateh, with a range of 105 miles. click here for more

Iran is bluffing. A US/Israel air attack will destroy the entire country in a few days.

no need for a US/Israeli attack.

an Israeli attack is more than enough grin

Excellent!!!

Iran most definitely has a right to defend herself against trigger-happy mumu Bush and scandal-infested Olmert!

Iran is a peaceful nation and has never attacked any of her neighbours, unprovoked. Israel, that apartheid and racist nation ruled by thugs, is planning (with US backing) to bomb peaceful Iran.

One wonders if Israel's noise about missiles from Gaza is credible in the face of their deliberate effort to incur the wrath of Iran's Shahab missiles (light years ahead of the Katyushas the Israelis keep grumbling about) by foolishly planning to attack Iran.

Israel should better rethink her archaic foreign policy, one dominated by unprovoked military attacks, assassinations and cold-blooded murder. It's clear that their apparent military power (only because of America's support), has damaged their sense of diplomacy and so ensnarled them in a golden hammer mindset: "When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail".

Here comes the village mumu

I wonder where these "rights" where when you all condemned Israel for defending itself against rocket attacks, kidnap and deliberate suicide bombing in Gaza and Lebanon. I happen to remember leftist drivel like "disproportionate" attack.

RichyBlacK:

1. "Peaceful" nations dont constantly call for the open destruction of another sovereign nation.
2. Israel is a nation populated by 20% arabs with more rights than those in Iran and yet village idiots still call it a racist and apartheid nation. Says more about their warped sense of moral judgement than Israel itself.
3. If Olmert is a thug what do we call Ahmedinejad, his dear friend Assad and their pet dog Nassrallah?

RichyBlacK:

1. Leftists mumus like this start their statements with ridiculous phrases like "one wonders" when it is apparent much of their rhetoric has precious little to do with rational thinking.
2. Iran is deliberately building its missiles for the "zionist entity" Israel . . . to pretend that Israel is deliberately courting Iranian attack is foolish.

RichyBlacK:

Israel should better rethink her archaic foreign policy, one dominated by unprovoked military attacks, assassinations and cold-blooded murder.

I'd have thought that this village idiot would be more worried about arab (including Iran) foreign policy which is hinged squarely on the 3 Nos at Khartoum. Such "policies" which include open sponsoring of terror organisations bent on killing jews, deliberately allowing "palestinian" arabs to fester in "refugee" camps to use as political weapons of propaganda against Israel, deliberate acts of war such as happened in 1967 and 1973 . . . hosting holocaust denial conferences and calling for the destruction of Israel.

Ah that would be expecting too much of our resident leftist idiots.

RichyBlacK:

It's clear that their apparent military power (only because of America's support), has damaged their sense of diplomacy and so ensnarled them in a golden hammer mindset: "When the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail".

If only their arab paymasters even understood the word "diplomacy" half as much as the jews did. We wont have the festering sore of suicide bombers in our midst. Why should leftists understand?

Well, we all know who the mumu is on this issue.

Pathetic! Was it Iran that was keeping Israel's tail wagging in Gaza? The problem with Zionists! They can't distinguish apple from oranges, to them all Muslims are Arabs and all Arabs are Palestinians. Understanding and appreciating nuances is impossible for pretenders.

1. "Peaceful" nations don't constantly call for the open destruction of another sovereign nation.

The problem persists! Drunk with propaganda from US government-controlled media sources like CNN and Fox, decrepit minds like the NL reisdent Jew-wannabe have totally lost the ability of shifting fiction from fact.

Ahmadinejad never called for the destruction of Israel. Of course he was speaking Farsi, but Western media (mostly a bunch of useless media outfits like Fox) twisted the words and translated the phrases to suit their agenda of demonizing the man Ahmadinejad - by the way, his IQ is 100 times that of George mumu Bush. If the stupidity of Zionism has left any ability for you to read, please read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad_and_Israel#.22Wiped_off_the_map.22_or_.22Vanish_from_the_pages_of_time.22_translation

Otherwise, continue to wallowing in ignorance!

2. Israel is a nation populated by 20% arabs with more rights than those in Iran and yet village idiots still call it a racist and apartheid nation. Says more about their warped sense of moral judgement than Israel itself.

Abegi, stop yarning dust! Some education for this Jew-wannabe:

Arab perceptions of citizenship status
Many Arab citizens feel that the state, as well as society at large, not only actively limits them to second-class citizenship, but treats them as enemies, impacting their perception of the de jure versus de facto quality of their citizenship.[101] The joint document The Future Vision of the Palestinian Arabs in Israel, asserts: "Defining the Israeli State as a Jewish State and exploiting democracy in the service of its Jewishness excludes us, and creates tension between us and the nature and essence of the State." The document explains that by definition the "Jewish State" concept is based on ethnically preferential treatment towards Jews enshrined in immigration (the Law of Return) and land policy (the Jewish National Fund), and calls for the establishment of minority rights protections enforced by an independent anti-discrimination commission.[102]

3. If Olmert is a thug what do we call Ahmedinejad, his dear friend Assad and their pet dog Nassrallah?

George Bush's has the lowest rating since ratings were established, for US presidents - 24%. What has been Olmert's rating? 3% (http://www.israelforum.com/board/showthread.php?t=12014)

2. Iran is deliberately building its missiles for the "zionist entity" Israel . . . to pretend that Israel is deliberately courting Iranian attack is foolish.

Stop talking like an okada driver, there is no evidence that Iran is building her missiles because of Israel. Every mortal with an iota of intellect knows that the probability of an Iranian first strike against Israel is much lower than the probability of an Israeli first strike against Iran. Every nation has a right to build conventional weapons, and most missile systems fall under that category. Israel, an apartheid state ruled by inept creatures, has nuclear warheads stored away in heavily fortified underground bunkers. Why?

I'd have thought that this village idiot would be more worried about arab (including Iran) foreign policy which is hinged squarely on the 3 Nos at Khartoum. This is simply yamayama talk! The days of Israel bullying of its neighbours are surely numbered!!!

With all the rubbish your neophytic mind allowed you to write, at least learn to properly address your brothers, even if you fail to properly address others.
1. It's "Jews" not "jews"
2. Iranians are not Arabs but Persians, stop using those to two nouns interchangeably (trying to put some other in the confused mind of a Nigerian who thinks he's a Jew - rubbish!)

News Flash from The Drudge Report:
IRAN MISSILE TEST BLUFF: OLD ROCKETS, BOGUS VIDEO
Fri Jul 11 2008 15:18:02 ET

Many of Iran's claims related to missile tests during "Great Prophet III" war games -- appear to be smoke and mirrors!

The missiles tested DID NOT not have 2,000-kilometer range, the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Saturday.

Iran DID NOT launch a Shahab-3 missile, able to reach Israel.

It was an older missile that was out of production, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE.

And a video showing what appeared to be many missiles being fired -- is actually one missile, filmed from different angles!

NYT's Bill Broad is planning to quote military insiders.

Developing,

When simpletons exhaust their meager dose of intelligence their only resort becomes self-caricature!

This reminds me of North Korea's 2006 detonation of a nuclear device; when the West and her minions experience an event they never believed possible, they begin a process best described as mental self-mutilation - they begin to question the veracity of the event. In that confused state, they attempt to discredit the event as untrue, while simultaneously threatening the producers of the event with everything from air-strikes to Guantanamo Bay to nuclear "annihilation".

The question is this: How can one event simultaneously generate doubt, disbelief and all manner of rejection, and still result in serious military threats?

To break it down further, how can Mr. David accuse Mr. Richard of being responsible for Mr. David's daughter's pregnancy (six months pregnant with twins grin) , while telling all his sycophants that Mr. Richard is impotent? If this makes any sense to any sane person, "please stand up"!

Surely, any person with a modicum of intelligence will understand that fears expressed regarding Iran's nuclear activities, support for terrorists and its general belligerence is not incompatible with a suspicion that Iran sometimes exaggerates its military capabilities.

If you narrow the matter down to the specific issue of Iran's latest missile tests, its missile project poses serious military threats, however,Iran goes to comical proportions(in this case, photoshop) to exaggerate the extent of its military capabilities. No lucid person will claim that this is unfeasible.
