Today is Halloween and a lot of people are excited about it; even Nigerians living abroad.

This question has always been on my mind. Why don't Nigerians in 9ja celebrate Halloween.

Why don't Americans participate in Osun-Osogbo celebration

Why should we celebrate Halloween? Must we follow the white men doggedly in everything they do
Let them join us to celebrate our Ijele, Mgbadike, Egungun and Eyo too

its an american festival and besides, halloween is more real for africans whereas its just entertainment for westerners.

besides, i think the pc nigerian equivalent is masquerade which is celebrated several times a year.

Halloween was a surprise for me when I first got to college in the U.S. I was never aware of anything like Halloween until I saw people in costume on my college campus. Ever since then, I have been part of it. As a matter of fact, my kids dressed in their costumes today and I took them to church to celebrate with other kids. Bunch of candies.

Halloween is the new yam festival, it's a harvest holiday from Ireland and Scotland

We celebrate it everyday, its just dat we don't wear costumes...
