Adamawa Denies Killing Of 30 Indigenes By Boko Haram

Adamawa State government has yesterday debunked the reported killing of 30 indigenes of the state by Boko Haram.

Some national dailies(not LEADERSHIP) had reported that Boko Haram struck Michika local government of the state killing about 30 people in the process.

The director of press and public affairs to the state governor, Murtala Nyako, Mallam Ahmad Sajo who reacted to the report said he believed that some dark forces were at work to ensure that the emergency rule currently imposed on the state is extended as such they were hell bent in co-opting willing journalists and mediums to fabricate fictitious reports portraying the state as insecure.

“The dark forces that were responsible for the emergency rule seems to be at work in order to get it extended just to achieve a devious and selfish political end not minding the negative consequences on the good people of Adamawa State as we are coming to the last lap of the emergency rule.

“The report credited to some media houses which suggested that Boko Haram has killed 30 people in Michika is as fictitious as it is a complete nonsense,” he said.

Sajoh said it was reckless for any paper to indulge in publishing such a weighty report without caring to cross check the basic facts.

He said what actually happened was that some indigenes of Adamawa State from Michika local government went for a wedding fatiha in Borno State and were attacked in Firgu, a village in Borno State adding that there was no reported killings anywhere in Adamawa State.

When contacted, the commanding officer, Special Operations Battalion Mubi, Lt. Col. Beyedi Martins said there was no such attack in Michika local government, “the place where the attack happens is Firgu between Bama and Gwoza and I don’t have details of any encounter there”.
