These are questions for any of you professing a religious faith.

Has the state of the economic state of the country and some of the cultural habits that seem endemic within Nigeria led you to question your religion?

Do you ever wonder why it is that a country with so many religious followers fares so poorly on the international Human Development Index?

Do you wonder why it is that so much time is spent pleading with gods for material wealth, even for those who already have plenty?

Do you ever wonder why it is that it is those countries that have such a large religious following are also the same nations prone to fall into periods of anarchy, chaos and self-destruction?

Have you ever wondered why in a nation with so much religion there is so little compassion, particularly for children? A country where some children are used as house-slaves (a house 'help' is an indentured servant, at best). Or worse, thrown out on the street as 'witches'. Are you not ashamed of your collective ignorance?

Do you wonder why your religious leaders do not follow the example set in the books that you cling so dearly to? The Pope of Rome lives in opulence; the Bible states that Jesus lived a simple life. Mohammed reportedly loved his wife and daughters dearly - he ensured that his daughters were educated. Some 'Muslim' fathers forbid their daughters attend school in Nigeria. Who benefits from such a decision?
