Obama Apologizes To Those Who Like Their Plan, But Can’t Keep It Under Obamacare by fonek: 2:56am On Nov 08, 2013
President Obama apologized to Americans who are not able to keep their current insurance plans despite his repeated assertions that those who liked their health coverage could keep it under the Affordable Care Act. The personal apology came inan interview Wednesday with NBC News. "I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me," he told NBC News. "We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this."
Obama’s refrain during the White House’s push for the new health care legislation was: if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That, however, turned out not to be true as Americans who currently purchase their own health care, some five percent of the population according to NBC News, may be forced to abandon their current policies because they don’t meet the minimum standards of coverage under Obamacare.
