Police in Akure said armed robbers who snatched three Ghana-must-go bags from a bank van onWednesday only took processed bank vouchers and not cash.

Witnesses also said the robbers snatched the bags supposedly containing huge sums of money from a customer who had gone to withdraw cash from the bank. Ondo State police spokesman, Mr. Wole Ogodo, told newsmen that the bank had officially reported the matter to the police, noting that the robbers actually took away papers thinking it was cash.
He said, “On the 6th November 2013 at about 1800hrs, Oke Oludare, the Operational Manager of the ECO Bank, reported at the station formally that some hoodlums numbering about three trailed their vehicle and double crossed it at the front of their ECO bank and forcefully removed three Ghana-must- go bags containing processed vouchers thinking it was money and zoomed off through NEPA round about.” Ogodo noted that the robbers were being closely followed and would soon be arrested and brought to book.
