SENATOR ANNIE OKONKWO PULLS OUT 10,000 APC SUPPORTERS FOR COMRADE TONY NWOYE.....Pharm Ikeagwuonwu Klinsmann

The Capital City of Awka was thrown into fanfare yesterday as Senator Annie Okonkwo pulled out his supporters from APC to support the PDP Governorship candidate Comrade Tony Nwoye.

The event took place at the Campaign office of Senator Annie Okonkwo located at the popular Kwata Junction along the Enugu Onitsha road, Awka. The supporters numbering more than 10,000 and drawn from the 21 Local Government Area of the state assembled at the Campaign office of Senator Annie Okonkwo in the early hours of Thursday Nov 7th,2013.

While speaking at the event, one of the leaders of the group from Nnewi South LGA Hon Uchenna Okafor explained that their supporters in Nnewi South are tired of the lies and deceits of APC and have therefore decided to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state especially now the party has Comrade Tony Nwoye as her candidate

Comrade Tony Nwoye and his entourage arrived the campaign office of Senator Annie Okonkwo exactly by 11.20am and were welcomed with drums; music and fanfare. They were immediately ushered in by the organisers of the event with directive from Senator Annie Okonkwo

In a short message delivered by Comrade Tony Nwoye at the event, he thanked the new entrants for the bold steps they took, their contributions and decisions to support the PDP and was humbled by the confidence and trust the group had on him and the Peoples Democratic Party and promised his Government will ensure an enabling environment that will usher in a horizontal development in all socio-economic sectors in the state

Comrade Tony Nwoye went further to explain that he had a cordial relationship with Senator Annie Okonkwo dating back to 2007 when he was the PDP Chairman of the state and also promised to absorb all members of Senator Okonkwo’s supporters to the party and to the Campaign Programme of his campaign organisation

The Campaign Train of Comrade Tony Nwoye later took some of the new entrants to the PDP office at the Udoka Housing Estate where they were issued PDP membership cards

Do these political reporters know what a thousand crowd is not to talk of 10,000?
Senator Okonkwo doing what he is best known for.
Many tip Ngige of APC for Victory but let me enlighten someone. Based on the conducted poll, if Ngige got 27% while Obiano has 21% truly, then I'm giving it to Obiano cos there are many other factors that will contribute to it.
PDP & APGA already have the structure while APC has not.
Based on influencial power, PDP presidential & APGA incumbency power will work against APC.
Anambra has been PDP politically but APGA is like their religion.
No doubt Ngige is the most popular but that alone can not guarantee victory.
PDP & APGA candidates are new to the game and are from the same area. That may play out against them.

When this same Annie Okonkwo was named the Contact man in APC Committee for the SE, he was a 'Progressive'..

When he raised Ngige's hands in that kangarro Abuja Endorsement charade, he was hailed by you chaps here as a Magnanimous 'Progressive'..

Today, he switches to another party, and SUDDENLY he is no longer a 'Progressive'.

I came to Anambra State and from my discussion with the people, i got to know that the other candidates are not as popular as Ngige. His name is the lip of every other person. It was like 2011 when Rochas was campaigning then, his name was on every lip of every Imolite. Will not be surprise if Ngige wins.

Only 10,000 supporters out of 1.75M registered voters----a drop in the ocean. Methinks obiano should be worried about Nwoye coming to divide his northern votes. Ngige supporters just glued to him. No shaking, 6 days to go.....NGIGE ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

Progressivism is a continuum! So he could be a progressive yesterday and relapse into Retrogressive politicking today so I don't cast blanket endorsement on people

We weigh your actions and inactions per time to call you are progressive

If a man wants to play the spoiler role in a noble cause then let him go and hang

Annie Okonkwo was reported to be asking for 60% commissioner nomination right if Ngige wins

Also he asked Onwa to promise him his senate seat in the event that Ngige wins the governorship by using his structure and contact wt the APC hierachy to mount pressure on the party to field him in a Bye Election

What he asked for amounts to playing the Godfather that Anambrarians had eschewed

Ngige of course called his bluff having travelled the route before hence Annie declined to work as his campaign coordinator

Ngige does not need an Annie Okonkwo to win an election in Anambra if his demands are silly,cut-throat and petty

Go Onwa Go!

Change is the only constant thing in this world

If Annie Okonkwo was acting up as a Progressive heretofore and later showed his greedy side by asking someone who is more politically astute, popular and more cerebral than you to promise you a whole lot of something you are yet to capture

Then a street-wise man and not so desperate Ngige was able to detect that what he was being asked to do will amount to the same thing he fought and laid his life on the line against 10years ago

So,in that case Annie Okonkwo is a greedy man and he should go jump inside Ezu River!!!

The beginning of different twists of event. Six(6)days is such a long time to loss or win any election. NGIGE is popular, no doubt but the last time I checked, popularity only doesn't win elections in Nigeria but sentiments and party structure: two factors that may likely work against Onwa of APC. APGA is a party of trust in Anambra but PDP has the structure. This puts both parties at pars but if Tony Nwoye had started his campaign earlier, he probably wwould be a man to beat.

Voting mathematics is very funny.

Those who think 10,000 is nothing be careful.

Mr A has 40,000 voters
Mr. B has 40,000 voters.

Now, Mr. B loses 10,000 votes to Mr. A, the difference is 20,000 and not 10,000.

this is because Bs voters = 40,000 - 10,000 = 30,000
while Bs voters = 40,000 + 10,000 = 50,000

As the countdown to the Anambra governorship election tails off to the final day, it is common knowledge that one of the numerous candidates will emerge as the governor when the good people of Anambra would have cast their votes to select Peter Obi’s successor.

What is not common knowledge, however, is that Tony Nwoye, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 16 governorship election, was part of the civilian thug that assisted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ige who forcibly kidnapped the ‘illegal’ governor Chris Nwabueze Ngige in 2003.

It is also not common knowledge that Tony Nwoye led the irate arsonists that burnt down two radio stations in Anambra state, government vehicles, torched the state government house and held hostage members of the state House of Assembly ostensibly to force them to sign a document that Chirs Ngige, then governor of Anambra State, had resigned as governor in November 2004.

These illegalities came on the heels of a gentleman agreement between the self-imposed godfather of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Ubah, and Dr. Chris Ngige which had gone awry and Chris Ubah was bent on dealing with Ngige whom he felt had betrayed him and therefore was not to be trusted anymore.

Among the members of the Chris Ubah-led gang that destabilised Anambra in 2004 was Mr. Tony Nwoye, the PDP flag bearer in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, who was president of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in 2004 and led a group of irate students to cause the debacle in Anambra, and Chief Obinna Uzoh, PDP guber aspirant who lost to Tony Nwoye in the PDP guber primaries and has made several attempts at the Anambra government house without success.

Others are Mr. Uchenna Emordi, who was the chairman of PDP in Anambra in 2004, and Mr. Ossy Nsugbe, known within political circles to be Chief Chris Ubah’s political errand boy.

In the unfolding political era, it will interest Anambra people to know that this gang of actors are not yet done with Anambra State as all plans are still in the offing to see that they take control of Anambra State by hook or crook.

Presently, the same group has propped up Mr. Nwoye as the candidate of the PDP with the backing of the political henchman of Anambra State, Chief Arthur Eze, who is Chris Ubah’s political godfather.

Is it this same Tony Nwoye that perpetrated all these punishable crimes against Anambra State that PDP is trying to foist on Anambra people? This newfound love between estranged godfathers and godsons is being fostered by no single reason beyond sharing the collective patrimony of Anambra people and Tony Nwoye is nothing but a point man and front for Chris Ubah and Arthur Eze.

How will an egghead state like Anambra that boasts of the likes of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Prof Chinua Achebe, Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu, Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Prof Kenneth Onwuka Dike, Prof Chike Obi, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and a host of others allow a gang of upstarts like Chris Ubah and Tony Nwoye to rule over them in this 21st century when excellence in business and governance defines the future?

At this juncture, it will be proper to state with all sense of modesty that the Igbo man, nay, the Anambra man, is blessed with a high Intelligence Quotient (IQ) by Providence and therefore should apply all available wisdom at their disposal including street wisdom in choosing their governor.

This is definitely a defining moment in the lives of Anambra people and any wrong choice in electing the next governor will certainly pull Anambra back to the dark days of Chris Ubah-Chris Ngige debacle.
