There are some zones called faultline on the earth surface, they are located where certain activities take place due to tetonic arrangments(in the case of earthquake and volcanic erruption) or atmospheric/weather mixeup due to sherical nature of the earth( in case of excessive wind, heat, cold, rain and solar storm).
