Why do we always wait for the whites to fly all the way from abroad to do it for us?
Are the nigerians journalists too unsophisticated to do what this BBC undercover did?
If our journalists brace up to tasks, corruption will become history in Nigeria.

See what these conmen are doing to us.

didnt go through the entire video length, but i understand what ur driving at.its obvious that our journalist s lack the initiative to do such things. they are busy with unprofitable coverages.again this is the kinda things we get if the FOI bill is passed.

Come now! Of course our reporters can do this too, they are just preoccupied with more important matters.

Anytime now, important news will break on Birthdaygate. They have to be on hand for that. . . some of them have been trying to crack the case of the President's missing Birthday for months. I say let them have their well deserved moment.

BBC journalists are in a better position to do this. The Nigerian journalist will be shot and killed within a day of uncovering any fraud.

the reason why nigerian reporters dont do it is because most of them have been bough out by the so called politicians, apart from ait doing well above average, the rest of the print and electronic media are either controlled by government(nta)others that lack funds or too scared and the newspapers are owned by either pdp big wigs or the governors

Our reporters won't get any protection if they broadcast anything thats too controversial, foreign reporters will get the neccesary information, leave the country, EDIT it well well to fit the argument they are trying to make and then broadcast it.

Majority of BBC's Reporters in Africa are Africans. Many of them are freelance journalists who sell stories to both local and international media. The media houses however decide what stories they will buy from these freelancers and which they do not consider news. So I don't believe the journalists should take the most of the blame here. I know of freelance journalists who provide stories to the BBC as well to Nigerian media houses and this particular one tells of how Nigerian media selects only stories of relevance to them while the foreign houses seem to consider more reports acceptable.

i totally disagree with you.journalists who are enlisted by the efcc to publicise their campaign are still well and around.

1) They are not paid well, hence they are not well motivated.

2) Its a high risk job, a journalist could get killed (like what happens in Russia) for uncovering a huge scandal.

3) They are not well trained, heck, some of this guys can barely use Microsoft word ( i takes them a while to find letter B after typing A). Also, they do plagiarize aaaaaaaaaaaa lot.
