November 13th, 2013 was a remarkable day for the PDP and Comrade Tony Nwoye campaign Organisation in Anambra State as President Goodluck Jonathan arrived the commercial city of Onitsha to campaign for Comrade Tony Nwoye

President Goodluck Jonathan arrived Onitsha in the company of the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, National Women Leader, Dr Kema Chikwe, Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu ,Prof Jerry Gana, the PDP Governors Forum Chairman Dr Godswill Akpabio, PDP Vice-Chairman Col Austin Akubundu, Former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo, Enugu State Governor Sullivan Chime, Senator Ben Obi, Prince Arthur Eze and host of other Party Big-wigs from across the country

President Jonathan and his entourage first visited the palace of the Obi of Onitsha Alfred Achebe who received him and thanked him for all his efforts to ensure that development comes to the South-East and beyound.The train later left to the Holy Trinity Cathedral Onitsha where party stalwarts, stake holders and party faithfuls were awaiting to receive the President and his team.

The State Chairman of the PDP Chief Ken Emekayi welcomed Mr President and his team and expressed satisfaction that the president had to postpone a Commonwealth Head of Government meeting to attend the campaign of Comrade Tony Nwoye while also sending appreciations on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party members in the state. Chief Emekayi also informed that the party and the people of Anambra State are also delighted that he was able to join the Campaign as some mischievous makers with directives from Mr Peter Obi have been moving round the state insinuating that Mr President was supporting APGA.’’Your arrival to the state to spearhead the Campaign of the PDP and Comrade Tony Nwoye is a confirmation that you are solidly behind us in Anambra State and to supports us in this election’’ Chief Emekayi posited. Other stalwarts that spoke on behalf of the PDP Stakeholders Forum mobilising support for Comrade Tony Nwoye includes, Hon Anayo Nebe ( A former Speaker of the state house `of Assembly on behalf of the Legislatures),Dr Godswill Akpabio (On behalf of the PDP Governors in Nigeria) Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigo ( On behalf of the Legislatures in the National Assembly),Prince Arthur Eze (On behalf of leaders of the party),Dr Tony Macfoy Akachukwu (On Behalf of the state stake-holders),Col Austin Akobundu and Alhaji Bamanga Tukur (On behalf of PDP members across the country) etc.The highlight of the Campaign saw the reception of more than 3000 Labour Party supporters and 17 LGA Chairmen of Labour Party who defected to the PDP.


Comrade Tony Nwoye also thanked President Goodluck Jonathan, the National Leadership of the PDP, his supporters and party faithful for the support, confidence and trust the party gave him and promised his government will ensure a sharp reduction in school fees Job creation, Youths empowernment, provision of adequate security etc.
Finally President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan was invited to speak to Anambrarians. Mr President who was ushered in to the podium alongside Mrs Ify Nwoye (wife of Comrade Tony Nwoye) started by expressing surprise at seeing the enormous crowd of supporters that came in their large numbers to welcome him at Onitsha.Mr President said he is from Anambra State by induction as his name Azikiwe and reminded the people of Anambra state that they must vote for Comrade Tony Nwoye as a gift to Ogbuefi Nnamdi Azikiwe who happens to share his birthday with the election date. ‘‘Comrade Tony Nwoye is an honest man who has the required Leadership antecedents to change Anambra State for the better. We will guarantee security at the election, the people of Anambra State must come out to vote and it should be on man, one vote, one woman, one vote, one youth, one vote and at the end, it shall be 99 percent vote for the PDP and Tony Nwoye’’ he concluded. Mr President also used the opportunity to inform the people of Anambra State to disregards the rumours by APGA that he supports the candidate of APGA,saying it was a white and cheap lie.Mr President declared Support for the PDP and Comrade Tony Nwoye and urged Anambrarians to support Comrade Nwoye on the 16th of November,2013
