A Coalition of Urhobo Ex militant Agitators (CUEA), we would have been responsible for the destruction of Utorogu pipeline, but after our preparation towards the explosion of the pipeline we saw the Joint task Force (JTF) Van arriving the location ,so we had to leave there because we have no business with the (JTF) if not we would have open fire on them. So, we hereby issue this message to the government for them to address our issue, and if there is nothing done about our situation, we will make sure that we shut down the whole of utorogu gas plant. Our planned attack followed the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum we issued the Federal Government to address marginalisation of Urhobo Ethnic nationality. Among other things, we hereby demand immediate appointment of a minister from Urhobo land, which is the fifth largest ethnic group in Nigeria and second largest in Niger-Delta region. We also demand adequate welfare package for Urhobo traditional rulers and youths from the federal government of Nigeria and oil multinationals operating in Urhobo Land. This compensation is to assuage for the environmental degradation of Urhobo land caused by the hosting of the kokori flow station, afisere flow station, warri refinery and the Utorogu gas plant which generate billions of Naira daily to the nation. We also plead for forgiveness from Mr president if we the urhobo have offended you please forgive us and give us our due recognition because we are totally neglected. Our over 5,000 youths who laid down their arms for peace are suffering, we need our arms back from the J.T.F because that was our source of livelihood and we have been deprived. We gave the federal government 14 days ultimatum to address the issue of the urhobo but the federal government neglected us we are not having any problem with the joint task force (J.T.F) but rather the federal government because this has to deal with our land in which our oil exist. Mr president urhobo youths are left behind we need to be carried along and empowered we are all Nigeria. Urhobo ex militants support Mr president transformation agenda the Urhobos gave Mr president majority vote in delta state yet we are been marginalized, is it fair Mr president? if the federal government refuses to address this issue we would make sure that we reduce all Federal government resources in the region,we are ready for the destruction now since the federal government is not ready to dialogue with us our next target is the warri refinery. Signed Ojaroma Akpokona |
