.....the US as usual came to the party very late and reluctantly...the tide was already turning on the eastern front before FDR agreed to open a second western front...by then majority of the german war machine had been bogged down in the ussr(virtually 90% of the wermacht was used in operation barbarossa)...my point is if the plan to include stalin in the axis had succeeded or ussr was left in a neutral position... the battle of britain would have been another feather in the cap of hitler and america would have been left alone to face the might of the axis...

hitler goofed big time...this is general knowledge amongst war historians....he had the war machine but he fell victim to the hubris of having defeated poland and france so quickly...he thought russia would go down the same way...he should have consulted Napoleon..

You can't say the US got to the party late. Europe was under German occupation. The US entered the war in December 1941. In the Moscow conference of August 1942, Stalin pressed Churchill for the Allies to open a second front. Churchill explained that they couldn't open a Western Front because the Allies weren't ready. The Allies weren't ready because German troops and Vichy France troops still posed a threat from North Africa. The Allies needed to win North Africa first, so that they could launch offensives on Italy and France. It wasn't until Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin met for the first time in November 1943, that the Allies agreed to open a second front. In return, Stalin promised to join the fight against Japan, once the war with Germany was over. The Germans moved troops from Army Group Center to France to counter the impending Allied landings on Normandy. The also moved troops to fortify Army Group North in Ukraine as a result of Russian deception. Although the Russians had had some stunning victories in Stalingrad, they had largely been unsuccessful against Army Group Center. After the movement of troops from Army Group Center, the Russians launched Operation Bagration which resulted in the Russians over running Army Group Center and pushing into Belarus. From then on, it was a race to Berlin.

Without US forces, North Africa, Italy, and France would have remained in German hands and it would have been unable to open a Western Front. Without a Western Front, Germany would not have moved its forces from central Russia. To further understand this strategy, you have to look at all the steps taken by the US. First it committed to assist Britain in fighting Germany. Allied strategy placed the defeat of Germany as the first priority because Germany was threatening the Allied capitals of Moscow and London. Then the Japs bombed Pearl Harbour. Churchill convinced the Americans that it was in its interests to fight Germany first, rather than Japan. You can not also overlook the Efforts of Henry Stimson who convinced US industries to support the war effort.

Please lets not re-write history; US efforts in WW2 weren't matched by any other country except for maybe Germany. Its contribution in terms of financial assistance through the Lend Lease program and its 16 million troops were hugely significant.

.........I missed this....

This is wrong on so many levels..dont even know where to start....

but here is a quote from someone who was actually in the thick of it...

"I have left the obvious, essential fact to this point, namely, that it is the Russian Armies who have done the main work in tearing the guts out of the German army. In the air and on the oceans we could maintain our place, but there was no force in the world which could have been called into being, except after several more years, that would have been able to maul and break the German army unless it had been subjected to the terrible slaughter and manhandling that has fallen to it through the strength of the Russian Soviet Armies."

—Winston Churchill, Speech in the House of Commons, 2 August 1944, “War Situation”

America is so daft at war because they are basically golems at the hands of their Jewish overlords.

Now that's why they keep losing.

A very interesting passage. History must be remembered and honored. I wrote an essay on the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence. Thanks to the site https://supremestudy.com/american-revolution I was able to connect with experts and pass essay on a tight schedule. It is very important to know such periods in the history of your country. Thanks to this, the nation exists.
