No fewer than 150 Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) patients have undergone successful operation at the Maryam
Abacha Women and Children Hospital, Sokoto, in the last six months.
The hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr Abdullahi Gada, announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Sokoto.
According to Gada, the patients are part of the 200 earlier screened for the surgeries.
“The operation of the remaining 50 patients will be done as soon as possible,” he said.
Gada said that some of the patients had been discharged from the hospital.
“The operations were carried out so that the patients can live normal life as women,” he added.
