Satan is a boxer nd 1 way he hits his opponents is by giving dem d jab.A jab is thrusting ur fist @ ur opponent.If u can hit him in d belly,he will bend nd den u can take off his head.Satan follows dis pattern repeatedly.D jab he gave 2 Elijah in 1 Kings 19:3-4 was discouragement.On Mount Carmel,he succeeded in deafeting nd eliminating all d 450 prophets of Baal nd in turning d Israelites back 2 God.Den Jezebel sent a message 2 him dat by d following day,he would b dead.He became discouraged nd afraid nd took 2 his heels. Discouragement may come 4rm any angle,even 4rm top leaders in d body of Chirst.Many yrs ago,while I was much younger,my General Superintendent called me nd said dat he was impressed by hw I organised d congress nd as a result,he was handing over 2 me d organisation of d church convention.So I mobilised d youths nd we had a successful convention.Den sumtin happened dat got me discouraged even 4rm my spiritual leader.He got a report 4rm a fellow,believed d report nd passed his judgement witout even investigating.As I was driving home,i got to St. Agnes(Lagos,Nigeria)and d police stopped my car.I was busy making up my mind not 2 continue.Thank God He spoke 2 me.He asked me,"Even though u re disappointed,have I eva disappointed u?" God used Gideon 2 deliver His children nd in Judges 8:22-27,dey came wit 1 voice 2 ask him 2 be deir king.He refused.Dereafta d devil decided 2 try sumtin else by provoking him 2 ask dem 2 bring him some gold wit which he would make an image like God.D devil rejoiced @ dis and said he had got him finally.D image Gideon made soon became an idol.Be very careful lest u re tempted 2 idolise ur victory! Dis is y victory must be celebrated within d bounds of humility.If success is not well managed,it will become a snare 2 d successful.How re u managing ur victory?
