An Israeli soldier is seen shooting an arrested and bound Palestinian, in a video released by an human rights group on Sunday.

B'Tselem's footage shows the Palestinian demonstrator -- identified as Ashraf Abu Rahman, 27 -- with handcuffs and a blindfold, as a lieutenant colonel holds him by the arm.

Abu Rahman was lightly wounded in the incident which took place on July 7 in Nilin, a West Bank village where regular protests are held against Israel's separation barrier by stone-throwing demonstrators, the group said.

The International Court of Justice in 2004 issued a non-binding resolution calling for parts of the barrier inside the West Bank to be torn down and for a halt to construction there.

Israel has ignored the ruling.

Egypt has a similar separation barrier in Gaza . . . any palestinian throwing rocks at it yet? When is the ICJ going to declare it illegal and halt construction? When will MC Usman and his ilk post countless pictures of palestinians beheading each other or flinging each other off rooftops?

How do we even know that the picture is genuine? Any proof?

Welcome to Pallywood.

Zionist apologist like you will always have something to say. Accept as true any thing dreadful from the Arabs and refute and rebut anything bad said against the Jewish. Same old hypocritical views.

Asking that you prove the veracity of your "footage" isnt being zionist, it is about being aware of previous precedents of doctored footage being used for propaganda purposes.

That aside . . . this is purely another unecessary vilification of Israel. What you have FRAUDULENTLY left out of your report is that the palestinian was shot with RUBBER BULLETS AKA dummies!

When have you been concerned enough to complain about Nigerian soldiers or policemen shooting defenceless Nigerians or is a palestinian more important to you?

Has your conscience ever bothered you about the fact that while Israel kept alive (he was allowed a degree course and marriage) a known murderer since 1979, Hezbollah chose to kill the two kidnapped Israeli soldiers?

Continue burying your head in the sand.

B'Tselem's footage shows a prisoner who has been blindfolded with his hands tied behind his back.
The man, who was protesting against Israel's separation barrier, made no attempt to escape, yet a gun was pointed in his direction and a shot fired.
B'Tselem claimed he was hit with a rubber bullet and suffered bruising.
But there is no evidence that the man, identified as Ashraf Abu Rahman, 27, was actually hit.

Sky's Middle East correspondent Dominic Waghorn said the bullet hit the ground in front of Abu Rahman and he was injured slightly in the toe.

The incident took place on July 7 in Nilin, a West Bank village where regular protests are held against the barrier by stone-throwing demonstrators, the human rights group said.

The Israeli army described the incident as serious and launched an investigation.
Speaking from Jerusalem, Waghorn added: "The point is, this is showing up what Palestinians say happens all the time on the West Bank, them being abused either by Israeli settlers or the soldiers themselves."

Can we ask Ashraf Abu Rahman for what reasons he particularly hates the Israeli wall while the Egyptians build their own portion undisturbed?
Re: Footage Shows Israeli Soldier Shooting At Captured Palestinian by toshmann(m): 6:10pm On Jul 21, 2008
the bloody soldier should have pointed the gun to his head. . . . grin just joking

well i guess there is a lot of problem with law and order in the region. which is why i keep insisting that this violence must end somehow. both sides have to do something otherwise we'll have more photos like this every second.

The difference is that the Egyptians build their own portion inside their own territories while the Zionist are building concentration camps within communities and neighborhood right inside the Palestinian territories. A situation where by your parents are on this side of the wall while you live on the other side.

Your bias is fully clear . . .

1. Why refer to Egyptians by their legally identified name and strenously continue to use the delegitimizing term "zionist" to refer to Israel a sovereign nation?

2. There is NO clearly defined border between Israel and the West Bank so to claim that Israel is building its "wall" (most of which is actually metal fence) in Palestinian territory is wrong.

3. The West Bank was Samaria/Judea under sovereign Jewish authority when the country was recognized by the UN in 1947. It was illegally annexed by Jordan in 1948 and won back in 1967 . . . uncle - when did this parcel of land suddenly become PALESTINIAN TERRITORY?

The boundaries of Palestine are those of the British Mandate excluding the Transjordan, Israel was established in three-quarters of this territory by the end of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, and remaining quarter, comprising the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem, were occupied by Egypt and by Jordan, and later conquered by Israel during the 1967 war.

MC Usman:

Transjordan was a part of the British mandate up until 1922 so pls stop being a hypocrite.

MC Usman:

Israel was established in three-quarters of this territory by the end of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war

The Mandate was divided into 2 - 75% to Transjordan and the rest to Israel. All attempts to divide the 25% left for Israel by giving the arabs yet more land was rebuffed by them in favour of all out war to destroy the jews.

MC Usman:

and remaining quarter, comprising the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and East Jerusalem, were occupied by Egypt and by Jordan, and later conquered by Israel during the 1967 war.

They were illegally annexed in a war by Egypt and Jordan and re-claimed by Israel in 1967.
