To meet an appointment
I was sent
Going was fun
I dare not run
There i met him
It had been a while
He looked truly depressed
Just like someone oppressed
A yearning to have a word
The yearning to speak the word
To comfort him i felt
To stand instead i knelt
In a corner i stood staring at him
He sat in a chair looking grim
I did really feel for him
I just have to tell him
As he stood to go
So my heart jumped at a go
The urge overwhelming
For i knew i was not dreaming
Off he sadly went
Like one that was sent
My heart did hurt
Sad with mission unfulfilled
Tomorrow i will tell him
But to bed i went distressed
At midnight came the call
He himself made the call
Unlike the calf taken to the slaughter
Eyes bulging, tongue hanging out
He did hang on the roof
Tied to his throat a rope
There he hung lifeless
He lay so still never to be seen or heard from again
Not a chance again with him
I was crushed
My heart constricted with unshed tears
Squeezed in total bitterness
More pain as my head ached
Anguished and speechless i stood
My stomach did turn and churn
The mission i failed
The great commision i postponed
Just a sentence if not less
Just one sentence could have saved
A life i lost for life
Try not to be like me
My story i share
Here is another opportunity
Here is a second chance
To fulfill the great commission
And as for you...
