All of these pictures are either of the Somali and Afar. Shows a range of traditional hairstyles used be men, women, and children.

First up the classic Afro. Can never really go wrong with this.

Next curled locks. Very popular among the Afar and Ogaden Somali.

Can't forget about the women. Surprising women only have their hair braided. In East Africa, hair grooming is more of a male activity.

At least be original and post Somali people lmao Afar and Somali culture is not the same, stop feeding into that cushtic bullshit. Being cushtic didn't save Somalis from the civil war, the 1977 war, european invasions and the constant conflicts with the Ethiopians.

The only Somali from your range of pictures is the Ogadeni man with the Ak47 walking up the hill and since when did Somalis use butter gee on their hair.

Be original mate, don't assimilate Afars and Somalis. We have more in common with the Afran Qallu Oromo.

Read the blurb below the first picture. Somalis used butter in their hair in the past. Afar are probably the closest to the Somali along with the Borana Oromo when it comes to culture. And if you look at the ONLF fighters, alot of them wear their hair in locks moreso than other Somalis. There are a number of old school pictures of Somalis wearing their hear in locks like the Afar. Just look at this.

Posting pictures of the ONLF now are we? Those men are part of a guerilla group and are therefore in a constant war with the Ethiopian regime. Why don't you post pictures of the common Somali nomads? That's right because you won't find what you are looking for.

FYI Somalis have never smothered butter in their hair, it has always been a sign for the Somalis in Ethiopia and Djibouti to tell if a person is Somali or not.

Afars, Borana and Somalis are not similar rather the Afran Qallu Oromo and Somalis are very hard to tell apart because the Afran Qallu got a similar clan structure, similar language and they look a lot like Somalis. The Afran Qallu have also assimilated many Somali clans, for example the Karanle Hawiya, Some Dir and Gerri subclans who nowadays live deep inside Qallu territory and have become fully accepted as a Qallu clan. Also the Somalis have assimilated the Akicchu clan into the Dir lineage.
You won't see that happening with the Borana and Afars.

Xudur Somalia Market 1969, Nomads visit town. Guys in white are nomadic camel herders in town for market. You can tell them from the town folk by their distinctive afro hairstyles.
