SOYINKA we know,ACHEBE we remember
Great piooners of our faith
Aeons ago, before we saw our first sun
They had made their marks
Soldier comes,Soldier goes they say
Your achievements we celebrates
This we will always do
But we must grow, our eggs must hatch
Our eaglets must soar
Give us wings to fly we pray.

Insatiable Minds
Stories long gone of wonders untold
Tales ages gone of blunders unfold
Lost memories of beauty centuries gone
Different pages of mysteries unravelled
Through years of diverse evolution
From man's ever continuing journey
From homo Eretus to his homo sapien
Diverse species of ideas hath he gathered
Leaving so much to be refined
As the numbers of years keeps growing
Seasoned ideas blessed with seasoned
brains
Hath doth emerged, all to our marvel
Rooted to the ground are we at their
fruits
But thirsty are we for new glories
Leaving so much ground to be covered.
Call the inner man in us OLIVER TWIST
'nd i will bring in an enclyclopedia of fact
to
support it
A never ending well hath he to keep his
laurels
A life long task which must be pursued
Only to be left behind at the Owls call.

The Democrats
Awo! I know, Zik! ! ! , he is of great
memory
Founding fathers of our legacies
Fathers at home, warlords in battlefield
Greats! ! ! Long gone to the world beyond
A name they have built in their time
A name it is, not for themselves
But for the world they live in
Call them a very big IROKO TREE
And i will call them ELEPHANTS
Like the IROKO TREE they were
unshakeable
Even to their roots, they held on to their
stems
ELEPHANTS they were, for they ruled their
world
We heard their voices, the whole world
shook to its very root
DEMOCRACY they gave us, a new lease of
life
Be it BLACK, be it WHITE
Our own we can call our own
Here you come 21st century man
Self acclaimed offspring of our greats
The podium in the marketplace you will
always mount
That you might be heard, do you really
need
all this?
From the cubicle of our greats, we heard
them speak
Even in their bedrooms their voices soar
high
Leaders your tags says, CHEATERS your
actions speaks
Leaving the question, Which is Which?
A lion I know will always begets a lion
While an Elephants will never begets a
Tortoise
This i s life, it can never be changed,
Never! ! !
Democracy it is, you are free to choose
your
name
Same applies to us, We are free to give
our
mandate
Not to the tags bearers, But the true sons
of
our greats
The Democrats! ! !

Civilisation or Animilization
Our journey into modernization
Straight paths,now modified crooked
'nd yet we heartily embark
On paths leading to hell

Civilisation or Animilisation
ASAKE now HASHAKE
OLUFUMIBI changes to HOLUFHUMIBI
Paga!!! The path our ancestors had trodden peacefully
Has now become a deathtrap for our souls

Civilisation or Animilization
Innocent prided damsels
Turned in a twinkle of an eye into Jezebel
Rainbow for face,Octopus as legs
'nd yet we appreciate beauty
In its very corrupt form

Civilisation or Animilisation
Immoralities for Moralities
Let the elite and the learned define both
Our world hangs in despair
While we claps our hands
appreciating every bits,like a cinema
Argh! Argh!! The poet wept
