First off what version of windows are you running?
Do you regularly update?
What is your antivirus?

Avg and avast have been having a lot of issues with windows updates of recent.

You can download whocrashed which will analyze your crash dumps and give a possible insight into the sources of your crash

The only sensitive information I have there are my work emails, personal emails where I get my bank alerts and Facebook passwords. Last last I will clear the browser cache before taking it there. That should suffice, right?
