Bollywood is better at making rom-com films IMO, as I've always enjoyed Bollywood sense of humor. However. in other genres, methinks Hollywood is much better.

Bollywood, that is very sex negative is better at romcoms?

Please, take a look at the movie "there is something about mary" and tell me which Bollywood movie can make the sexual jokes that the Hollywood movie did.

Bollywood is trying but they are behind Hollywood in every department except singing and dancing in movies.

Your rating made me watch the movie. I thought it was thrilling but it looked more like an animation for adults than kids.

I'd give it a 7.5/10

These recent DC animations like bad bloods, son of Batman, hush etc are not for kids at all, I think they should even add 18 rating just like boondocks. Imagine the lesbianism and sexual innuendos on display even the language too. Like you said it's animation for adults. Still love it tho.

I never knew romcoms were solely about sex jokes. This is mind-blowing

There is much more to rom coms than toilet humor.

Tsam does not even come up in a quick search for best rom coms.

Yep it's definitely funny, but it is not really what people are looking for in rom coms

Did you forgot the part where I said, "in my opinion"? And who told you Rom-coms must have sexual overtones to be interesting?

That was not the exact point I was making. My point is below-

Sex is a huge part of romance. The moment you remove sex or sexuality from romance, you are removing an essential ingredient from a meal that you are preparing.

Compare this to sofcore porn and hardcore porn. If you dont show breast, yansh, pussy or dick, it is sofcore. Now many people dont even consider sofcore porn to be porn. Imagine you want to watch porn but it only shows a guy squeezing breast and ass through blouse and panties. No penetration and no full nudity. Is that one porn?

Bollywood romance is infantile abeg. Funny enough, all those lati telenovelas do better romance than Bollywood abeg. When Rodrigo kisses Maria.....mennnnn....that's some love...

Whilst pausing every minute to sing/dance is okay in romantic movies, it often ruins the rhythm and mood of a more serious story. Bollywood sucks at action movies because of this. I mean, how can I take a protagonist serious when he sings every 5 minutes?

They dont have to but sex is important. Kissing is important.

Romance without all these things is like stew without salt and pepper- it is still stew but not as sweet.

I gave you a film- "there's something about mary". Find a Bollywood romcom that can compare to that.

We're talking about romcoms here not plain romance movies. Romcoms don't need to be sexual. They need to be funny with a romantic storyline.
And your softcore/hardcore porn analogy is just lost on me. Like, I can't connect it with our romcom argument.

That's fine.

The original argument is clear to anyone without bias. Sex is a huge part of romance.

Even comedy. Tell me, which comedian does not have his share of dick and vagina jokes?

Sex. Sex. Sex.

Think of all the iconic Hollywood romcoms. The most memorable parts are either the kissing or the sex jokes.

1. There is something about mary- sperm in hair joke

2. When Harry met Sally- Orgasm diner scene

3. American pie- Thrombone bone. Stifflers mom sex. Pie sex.

Research has shown that singing and dancing before a fight improves your motor abilities immensely. Mayweather break-dances before his fights, Pacquiao does the Lu'au, Israel Adesanya does a Shaku-Shaku & Zanku routine.
I can't take a protagonist who can't make the time to sing and dance before a fight serious.

You seem to love cringe comedy a lot. It's too on-the-nose for me. I prefer comedy and comedians who can be funny without being overly sexual. Sex being a huge part of romance doesn't mean romance stories have to feature sex within to entertain.

There is nothing in a kiss. Many kisses are not even sexual.

City Lights and Annie Hall (1977) were the best rom-coms ever made and there wasn't a single sexual connotation in them. There are many more like Notting Hill, and Love Actually.

1977 are you serious? That alone disqualified the film city lights and annie hall as an example.

Notting Hill? Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts? Comedy? Lol.

My guy, letseven take the most popular Hollywood rom-com in Nigeria- coming to America, starring Eddie Murphy. There were many sexual jokes there. Even right at the beginning where they washed Eddie Murphy's royal d1ck.

I thought The Boondocks meme would make the sarcasm clear. But yeah, people don't usually use the heart attack expression as a joke.

So because City Lights and Annie Hall are both classics, they are unqualified to be classed as rom-coms? Are you sure you're okay?

And FYI, there are R rated rom-coms, and rom-coms for a wider demographic. Guess which ones are more popular?

I don't expect much from anyone that would rather watch Anna than John Wick 3, but man, this is a new low, even for you.

Seeing the meme, I had a feeling you were still joking, but I was indecisive. The phrase "like a heart attack" carries a lot of weight.

Ogbeni, stop putting words in my mouth. John Wick is a better film than Anna- that I agree. My point was that Anna is a good movie too.

Even the pg13 Rom comes have sexual innuendos. Oga, your argument is all over the place.

It is telling that you have not put forward any Hollywood-beating film from Bollywood.

You know deep down that Bollywood romcoms are inferior.

You are a married man. You very well know that real life romance is not pg 13. Do you not share jokes with your wife? Are they mostly sexual or mostly clean?

You need to get married, perhaps, you'll grow some sense.

I used 5 minutes to emphasis the volume of songs in a typical Bollywood film. There are too many songs, just enough to take one completely out of it.

Don't bother, I'm not very keen on Bollywood films atm.
