Thirteen Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors rose from a meeting at the Akwa Ibom State Governor's Lodge  last night with a resolution that the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, should go.

The meeting, which  ended at about 9.55p.m., saw the PDP governors heading to the State House to make their views known to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Though it is not known when Tukur would be shoved aside, THISDAY gathered that the meeting between the PDP governors and the president would set in motion machinery to elect a new national chairman from the North-east geo- political zone.
Two states are said to likely produce the next national chairman. The states are Borno or Bauchi State.

Though it is still not yet known how President Jonathan will respond to the demand of the PDP governors who are seen as the field commanders of the party in the states.
The governors at the meeting  were those of Akwa  Ibom, Delta, Abia, Ebonyi, Kogi, Kebbi, Kaduna, Bauchi,  Enugu, Cross River, Katsina, Plateau, acting Governor of Taraba State and the Deputy Governor of Niger State.

If u believe this news then u can believe anything.

1) Of what use is the sack when G5 hv left because GEJ refused their request to sack him.

2) Tukur is not against any of the gov holding firm the structure of the state party. It was only in some part of North that is against him.


GEJ will be shooting himself on the foot by sacking him. It aint gono happen . pronto
