Hi, were everybody dey? Has there ever been any loyalty reward for we faithful Data customers? Keep patronising the networks but nothing for us, unlike the voice customers, who keep smiling with rewards from promos?

I dont think there is any promos for Data users,
Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by webgenius(m): 8:50pm On Jun 26, 2010
I pay a lot of money every month to the networks, do not spend as much on voice calls per month.Yet people win a lot from the promos on voice calls and nothing for we faithful data guys. It's really not fair

Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by webgenius(m): 2:24pm On Jun 27, 2010
@Puskin: not whining. I'm sure you would like to benefit if there is a promo. Just wondering if there is no competition anymore in DATA services here in Nigeria. Outside of here, subscribers are given many incentives to join a network, but the reverse is the case here
Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by puskin: 1:13am On Jun 28, 2010
mMm??. . . .there is nothing U can do if they dont do promos for data customers. . . . . just manage!!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised to get a mail from Starcomms telling me of the expiration of my package in a few days time. I have previously complained several times to customer care of thev reason why we could not have this kind of service just like one could check the balance on one's phone by *225#. I am happy to note that one could now check one's status and remaining days on the network.
If we don't ask or complain, we would get nothing. I have even started asking them to give us Total broadband(8-10Mbps), who knows one day it would just happen

if you want to check whether your package has expired text the number assigned to your modem to 37937 from a starcomms phone. . .

and as per the torrent thing, i think it depends on what you download, i think it was even stated somewhere on NL sef. it's when you download copyrighted stuff that you get into trouble, and it's mostly films and stuff.

Is there any early effect of MainOne on our networks?
Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by laroche(m): 2:27pm On Jul 06, 2010
I want to use the Starcomms Izap. I do downloads & file sharing a lot on different websites.
I equally use some torrents sites (since there are lot of them).

Now I read somewhere in this thread that Starcomms blocks modem when one uses torrent

Now I need to ask if that statement is true? If yes, which of the torrents sites are really outlawd by Starcomms?

Any other info as regards Starcomms DOs & DONTs with thier modem would be appreciated.
Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by puskin: 5:49pm On Jul 08, 2010
^^ Dont worry. . . . just try torrenting. . . . when they block U, then U'll prolly knw which ones are out-law'd

The network has been slow of late here in Port Harcourt.
Re: Starcomms Izap - Is It Really Fast As Starcomms Claim? by olapeju09: 5:49am On Jul 10, 2010
IZAP is better than evdo. I use the two and i can confirm categorically that it is faster. but their problem is the tariff of all of them is too high. they should just do something about it. no promo, no nothing, they know how much they make from this internet thing.
