How many people here know about Santeria in Cuba? Living in Miami, I see more and more Cubans each day are embracing this Yoruba religion, which consists of mainly sacrificing various animals, but I heard if you want the sacrifice to take effect, you have to have a babalawo perform it.

Some of the terminology in Santeria sounds familiar, like "Oludumare" and "Orisha".

There's also Candomble in Brazil, another Yoruba religon. Here are some vids that embrace the Yoruba religion

yes, yoruba language is the most widely spoken of all nigerian languages round the world and same as yoruba culture and religion, its just a shame that we dont take our culture as serious as people outside nigeria take it,for instance im from osun state and my home town is less than 30 mins drive to the famous osun groove yet i have not been there before while people come all the way from america, cuba, brazil, haiti e.t.c
when you see the millions of people all round the world and the yoruba influences compared to other tribes/cultures both in nigeria and other parts of africa, that shows how massive, powerful and far reaching we used to be
