A 70-year-old man, Chukwu (surname withheld), was yesterday arrested by police in Ebonyi state for raping and defiling a 10-yr-old girl at Amangwu Okposi in Ohaozara local government area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Chris Anyanwu, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), toldSunday Sunthat the suspect was alleged to have raped the girl three times at Nomadic Primary School, Okposi.
He said “On December 7, 2013 a case of defilement was reported at Ohaozara Police Division by one Mary John Ogo of Amangwu Okposi who said her granddaughter named Mary of about 10 years old of the same address was defiled by one Chukwu of Ofoegbu Okposi.
“The woman said that her grand daughter has been defiled on three occasions by the same person at Nomadic Primary School, Okposi. A team of policemen visited the scene of the incident where a medical report form was given to the complainant for a medical test to be performed on the victim in order to get doctors report on the matter”.
The suspect has been arrested and the matter has been transferred to the state CID for further investigation
