1. Boy will tell u, u are beautiful and smart just to get into your panties. You are the easiest target becos they know u know nothing, so be wise. Don't become the varsity public toilet everyone can get to use.

3. You think you are all grown up? Lol trust me u might be legal now but you are not grown at all. Make wise decision, so that when you get to your final year you don't look back and say damn I was very stupid.

IF YOU ARE A GUY

1. Don't spend on what you can't afford simply because a few girls gave you some attention, they are doing it to save their small pocket money at your expense.
2. Reduce on the number of drink-ups you host or those you go to, you still have the chance to drink your life away when you start earning your own money. And trust me when you actually go up and become a real man, you won't see the significance of drinking just as much.
3. Don't do go to extremes to make friends. Be yourself and those who are worthy to be your friends will simply become your friends. Never try to buy friends

(1) all course thats starts with "1" e.g. ECN101,GST123, RLG154 are those you should be concerned with on the full departmental timetable, i know this sound silly i didnt know this when i got admission years back, i ended up copying all on the board year1,2,3 and final inclusive that year...lol
(2) When you finally settle down to studies please dont let first semester grades deceive you into believing you are a genious, you can have CGPA 4.9 at end of first semester and end up graduating with 3rd class after 4 years,trust me im talking from experience, forget that rubbish notion you have 10 A1 in WAEC it doesnt count in tertiary institution.
(3) Get involved in social event to a controllable minimum.

Remember that your primary reason for being in school is to learn and get a good degree. Having said that, you also need to balance academics with social life.

Also, do not start your semester aiming for a 2.1, try a first class and if you fail, you would be on a strong 2.1

Moz - mozambique hall for gals 100level

They are closely built and there's a car-park that bounds them together, they call it anglomoz, that's whr guys n babes block at nite. That's y its called anglomoz 101, tank me latr

jus go and do your thing you will get use to the system if it were to be my school OSU ( OOU ) i'd have said you should not be fast and also don't be slow to do stuff and be prepared for that Sun at PS that is my advice to OOU new students

Angola hall is strictly for fresh male student and mozambique hall is also strictly for fresh female student. Anglo-moz is very popular because d place always gt in d evening where u will see students standing or sitting in twos i.e a boy and a girl parrol. Hope u nw get it

2. In my school, freshers lecture ends by 2pm, but I don't go back to my room until 5pm; let's just say I was a triangular student. (Hostel, class and library). Time management is very important! Don't play around because you have the time to play.

3. Past questions! Nigerians lecturers are VERY lazy! They barely have time to set undergrad questions (postgraduate students is their focus). Study with the aid of past question. Believe me, the real exam would be as easy as the past questions you solved.

4. You shall have no girlfriend!!!!! Girl-friend will do.

5. Attend classes! Don't take advantage of your freedom, by boycotting class activities.

6. Buy departmental textbooks, even when you don't need them, If OAU is in anyway like my school, buying compulsory textbooks, especially MTH, CHM and BIO goes a long way in influencing your result. If you don't buy those textbook AR/missing scripts awaits you.

5. Don't hang out with stallites* odikwa, very risky.


NB: If you know you don't want a first class degree, don't work for it in 100L, because if you work hard and you are unable to keep up the pace in subsequent level, it's highly disastrous o.

University is a weird place with different set of people. majority of who are confused or purposeless. As a fresher, most of ur course mates will want to brag abt their intellectual ability. Don't be intimidated, especially if u ar an average student. Some will even stand in class and challenge d lecturers as if dey knew better. But ironically, most are empty barrels. See urself as an average student that enthusiastically seeks for improvement on a daily basis. Work with d previous set and get d right materials. Make judicious use of ur time and surround yourself wit d like minded people. Humble yourself, be smart but dnt be dubious. Dnt isolate yourself inorder to be informed. stress is inevitable, prepare for it. Above all, know God because He's d only one that can make u succeed. Wish d very best.

bro. It's nt difficult to make 4pts in year one.. One jst have to be determined..
Op, concentrate more on courses wt high units. If u are a science student, abeg concentrate ur attention on MTH101-5units, PHY101-4units and CHM101-4units.
Concentrate less on special elective courses pls as they are countless in ur cgpa

although, academics is d first assignment in school bt u still have to add values to urself.. Join progressive associations like, rotaract club, drug free club, man o war, mssn, ujcm, nd d rest.. Get urself involved in unionism as u wil gain so many things from it.. U can start from at d faculty or departmental level.. It will definitely add value to u.. Also remember that oau is for LEARNING and CULTURE

Believe me it's not "Extremely difficult" am a living proof of that, I don't have a full testimony yet, as I am still an undergraduate. But from my experience so far, 100L is the easiest level to make good grades.
