Augustinaz: Run away from HP laptops. HP laptops cause heating problems. I have purchase two HP laptops and they both have heating problems. They shut down when the laptops over heat. They are manufacturers defects. Run from HP Laptops. A Sony Laptop is better. Who they talk say HP na laptop,they rated them in the world as the Best laptop with Overheating problem. I bought HP laptop twice and they Bleep-up with overheating problem,now I have port to TOSHIBA one chance |

Reasonably priced too.I have a L450 Pro for 4 years now and I can attest that all the noise about hp, dell is all hype. Those guys in Toshiba must be wizards to have come up with such unequaled products. |

Please run away from HP. Don't let non-engineers deceive you. Quite frankly most engineering softwares don't require high specs, Just ensure the RAM isn't less than 2gig and its a dual processor of not less than 1.6ghz, don't bother yourself with the video card version unless you are into games. Go for Dell, Toshiba or Acer and save yourself the stress that comes with HP, Sony too is very good but expensive. All the engineers 'I know' that bought HP, especially Pavilion, regretted it. Your 75k is more than enough by the way |

Go for dell.it's very rugged.i run loads of engring software without any problem.i have been using mine now for 4yrs without problem.run from hp.two of my brother's high end hp laptop packed up recently |

OP...seriously, eraze HP from your mind. Go for Dell and your life will never remain the same. I use a Dell N4050,2.4gHz,i3,4gb,500gb,1gb DVcard. Though got it Feb for 85k, its so superb. It does anything...and whn I say anything I mean ANYTHING! |

My guy, below is the specifications you need to run your engineering software because most engineering software are 3D programs which rendering will become a problem if you don`t have the right engine. 1. processor = i3 or i5 or i7 dual core 2. Ram = 6GB to 16GB 3. VGA = your vga card must be dedicated vga meaning it must have it own ram say 512mb ,1gb or 2gb will be ok and the best Graphic makers are ATI and NVIDIA The above 3 is the most important in a computer while the 4th is the hard-disk and any system with the above spec. will usaully come with 500gb to 1tb 1 Like |

Well  . My only advice for u is don't even tiink of buying used laptop ccoz u may end upwith slow in operation espicially when u instal heavy package like AutoCard. Try n look for brand new one with minimum specification below;U nid >=14" of screen for wide display 4gb of Ram >=300gb harddrive And atleast 3cell battery for long lasting power |
