just type your router's IP address in a browser, go to LAN settings and disable NB. works for Linksys and Dlink routers. |

If you want to stop network broadcasting on a single workstation, then you need a third party software such as Kerio Personal Firewall. You can download a trial version at (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,22932-order,4-page,1/reviews.html). Once you've done that, you'll need to follow these steps (After you've downloaded and installed the software: Step 1: Right click on, program icon, located at the bottom right corner of your task panel, and select "Configuration" Step 2: Select "Network Security" on the left hand column, the click on "Predefined" tab. Step 3: In the "Predefined" tab deny both options for the broadcast settings. You can also block other ICMP packets including PING in!  Enjoy!
