I think this will do someone some good:

THIS IS A NEW ONE.

PLEASE BE GUIDED AND ENLIGHTEN OUR CUSTOMERS, FRIENDS AND RELATIVES,  ,  ,  ,

This seems like the latest trend being used by ATM fraudsters to swindle their unsuspecting victims.

One of our customers just complained yesterday evening that he received a text message from GLOMOBILE with their Logo informing him of  his recent winning of their N1,000,000 cash promo. He was further asked to call the number 08057276992 for  further  clarifications. When he did, he was asked the banks he has accounts with and whether those accounts are tied to ATMs.

He told them that his INTERCONTINENTAL BANK and DIAMOND BANK accounts enjoy ATM facilities and he was then asked
to go straight to any UBA ATM to key in some 19-digit numbers in the TEST FUND option on the ATM machine after he had inserted
his card and keyed in his PIN. He did this for his 2 a/cs  as above and according to him, after keying in the 19-digit numbers and pressing enter, the ATM prompted back the 19-digit number and 6015 for DBPLC card and 2013 for ICB card. The fraudsters confirmed to him that they have confirmed his ownership of the the 2 a/cs and asked him to check his a/c balances in the next 3 hours to confirm that the N1,000,000 has been paid online into his account.

Unfortunately, by the time he checked after 3 hours, his previous balance in the 2 a/cs have been swept. He has reported to  GLOMOBILE. We have also hotlisted his DB card.

We really need to advice our customers accordingly as in this instance, the customer’s conviction was that the text was sent from GLO not any other number and how these fraudsters have been able to penetrate the GLOMOBILE network such that a text sent from them and sent via the GLO network still shows GLO as the sender remains a mystery for now.

THIS IS A NEW IDEA THIS PEOPLE WILL NEVER STOP. PLEASE LETS PASS THIS INFORMATION. TO OUR CUSTOMERS ,FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.

nothing mysterious there, any off the shelf bulk SMS client application will pull of that stunt easily, they all have the ability to clone or replicate any number or logo inserted. so twas even a cheap scam, pls for us to avoid such we only need to know that ANY THING 2 GOOD 2 BE TRUE AIN'T TRUE. chikena.
