Hello,

I own a 2000 model Toyota corolla, about 2 months ago, I started hearing this Screeching Sound from the car when accelerating. With time, it became worse and louder. It sounds like two or more moving metals hitting one another. At times it sounds like it's coming from the exhaust, sometimes from the engine, and it is only when on motion and accelerating that the sound occurs. Please help....

Sounds like a slipping auxillary belt. Check tension, and condition. If there are any cracks visible in the ribbed side of the belt, replace, and make sure the tension is set right, your engine has a manual tensioner. Later models are hydraulic.

and the alternator belt as well when it gone loosen that wat u get

steering pump does that too
