The National Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday impounded an 18-seater commercial bus for carrying 48 passengers.

The NEMA spokesperson, South West Zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the vehicle with number plate Lagos IKJ 483 SD, was coming from Ibadan, Oyo State when it was stopped at Berger, Lagos State.

He said, “It was during our routine checks and monitoring that we stopped the Lagos-bound commercial bus.

“It was an 18-seater vehicle, but we saw there were 48 passengers on board. We had to discharge the passengers at Berger, while we towed the bus to the Federal Road Safety Corps headquarters at Ojodu Berger.”

Farinloye warned drivers against risking the lives of people during the Yuletide because of their impatience and greed.
