APC Will Win 2015 Election - Buhari by AderibigbeAAA(m): 6:46am On Dec 26, 2013
FORMER military head of state and
leader of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) General Muhammadu
Buhari (Rtd.), has said that the party
will win the 2015 presidential election
and that it is a forgone conclusion.
He also described the administration
of President Goodluck Jonathan as
lawless, calling on Nigerians to join the
APC in its campaign to recover the
country.
“APC is about securing Nigeria and
managing it efficiently, how are we
going to do it? The way we are going
to do it is why we got the opposition
parties with representation in the
states and the National Assembly.
With that we believe that the
question of winning the election in
2015 is a foregone conclusion. We are
particularly grateful and impressed by
your governor for his single-
mindedness and his capacity to
identify what is good for his people
and for the country, we thank him
very much.
“A lot of you here were not born
when our leaders thought that the
fundamental thing is one Nigeria, in
spite of our differences; ethnic and
religious, we’ve found ourselves as
one people. Our country, with
tremendous resources and talented
people, but we the people have
managed or mismanaged to organise
ourselves so that we can use them
wisely for this country.
“APC, as I said, is about securing and
efficiently managing Nigeria, I want
you to believe and participate fully
because this effort we are making is
for you because no matter how much
we love this world or the office, we
have only five and ten years to go,
you better realise it and accept it and
work for a strong Nigeria.
“I thank Bola Tinubu for his single
mindedness and the chairman Akande
for his experience and personal
integrity to help to get this party
firmly on the ground. We in this party
will do everything constitutional to
make sure that the 2015 election is
credible. We are in an extremely
difficult position where a government
is lawless, it is very clear to us and the
international community that
executive governors are the chief law
officers of their states. Courageous
Amaechi has been fighting a
government that is supposed to
support him constitutionally. We and
the rest of Nigeria are absolutely
behind your governor and God willing,
we are going to deliver our country
democratically come 2015, no matter
how negatively other people think,
Nigeria will survive”, the former head
of state stated.
Buhari who spoke at the Save Rivers
Movement sensitization rally in Port
Harcourt on Monday, also commended
the Rivers state governor, Chibuike
Rotimi Amaechi for his steadfastness
even in the face of persecution by
federal government over his beliefs.
Buhari’s encomiums preceded
Governor Amaechi’s challenge to the
federal government for an open
debate over alleged unfair treatment
of the state by the Jonathan
administration.
Speaking at the rally, General Buhari
said the APC would do everything
constitutional to ensure that the 2015
elections are credible, emphasizing
the need for Nigeria to overcome her
current challenges as one country.
Meanwhile, Governor Amaechi,
Monday, said he would not support
President Goodluck Jonathan for a re-
election as long as he continues to
short-change Rivers State for other
states, saying he would not “sacrifice
Rivers for the interest of a South-
South president who does not favour
the state.”
Amaechi, who said another 41 oil wells
belonging to the state in the Etche
area had been ceded to neighbouring
Abia State by the Federal
Government, also alleged that the
level of corruption in the current
federal administration was
unprecedented in the history of
Nigeria.
He also said the Federal Government
had elected to devote anti-graft
agencies against the state, while it
looked the other way in the cases of
its own agencies that should be
investigated for corruption.
“One other thing that is bothering me
is that all those that are on the other
side, saying we want South-South
president, I agree with them, but in
politics you don’t just go to a place
because you like someone, you go
because you have your own political
interest, so if a South-South president
refuses to give you water what do you
do? You sweep him out.
“We gave the president nearly 2.1
million votes, right? Let him tell us
one project he has done for us. I have
challenged the president that I belong
to the APC, if he wants me back in the
PDP let him give back the oil wells to
the Kalabari people. No, the
president cannot, instead, he will take
more. One of our sons, a Kalabari son,
said the oil wells were taken under
Rufus Ada-George, tell him I say he’s
lying, he’s never served in
government. I served under Ada-
George government, there was no oil
well taken from Rivers State. I served
under Dr Peter Odili, the oil well was
taken in 2006, they put the money in
an escrow account, by 2007, 2008,
2009 and 2010 they took all the
money and gave to our brothers and
they converted Soku to Bayelsa. My
friend and brother in Bayelsa said ‘we
don’t want Soku, we just want their
oil-wells.
They said Buhari is not a Christian,
he’s a moslem, we are not preaching
religious politics, everyone in Nigeria
has a right to worship where he wants
to worship. It is only when there is
bad governance that they begin to
look for who is an Ikwerre man, who
is an Ijaw man, who is a Hausa man,
who is a Yoruba man. If there’s good
governance you will be talking about
schools, today have I told you I’m an
Ikwerre man?
“In Etche they have taken our forty-
one oil wells across, they are denying
us our rights, we have suffered
enough and as a students’ leader, I
learnt that nobody should trample on
your rights. If I had not fought for my
rights I wouldn’t have become
governor, I suffered and my children
suffered, but today, we are in
government. If you listen to them
closely our brothers on the other side
are hungry, they have been out of
power for nearly eight years, if you
vote them into power what will
happen?,” Amaechi said.
The event was also attended by
Senator Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi
Akande, Chief Tom Ikimi, Alhaji Aminu
Masari, members of the National
Assembly and other leaders of the
APC at both the state and national
levels.

Wow..great and eloquent speech. This is exactly who we need as a president. I just wish all of us would keep the ethno-religious sentiments, the jokes, the unseriousness among us, and take ur time, with a clear, open mind and read and understand what the man is saying, and at the end of it, let ur better conscience and judgement win.
Let me help break it down for everyone, because he has infact, in such a simple, short statement, noted 5(five) vital points every well meaning Nigerian should have in mind
. (Please, take your time and read it)

1. "“APC is about securing Nigeria and
managing it efficiently, how are we
going to do it? The way we are going
to do it is why we got the opposition
parties with representation in the
states and the National Assembly."

Here: in this statement, he is telling US what the purpose of the party, APC is-their primary and major objective, which is first, to get to power, and then subsequently, using that power to run an efficient government,
Secondly, he has stated why they resorted in reaching out to parts of the opposition, and what they intend to acheive with the newly recruited oppositions members

2."We are
particularly grateful and impressed by
your governor for his single-
mindedness and his capacity to
identify what is good for his people
and for the country, we thank him
very much"

Here, he has stated the reason why they have decided to identify themselves with amechi and bring him into the fold..stating the qualities that endeared him to them, which is not jst restricted to his people, but good for the country

3."“A lot of you here were not born
when our leaders thought that the
fundamental thing is one Nigeria, in
spite of our differences; ethnic and
religious, we’ve found ourselves as
one people."

Here, he touched the history of Nigeria, and reminded everyone of us, the efforts of our past leaders at uniting the country because, they realised the strength in diversity, and the pledge each and everyone of us, who had sang the national anthem makes/made when we say "the labour of our heroes past, shall never be in vain"

3. "Our country, with
tremendous resources and talented
people, but we the people have
managed or mismanaged to organise
ourselves so that we can use them
wisely for this country"
In this statement, he has reminded us of our strength, our qreat qualities, our talents, and he has pointed what need to be done in other to acheive our greatness, which is manage, and organise ourselves wisely.

4.
"“APC, as I said, is about securing and
efficiently managing Nigeria, I want
you to believe and participate fully
because this effort we are making is
for you because no matter how much
we love this world or the office, we
have only five and ten years to go,
you better realise it and accept it and
work for a strong Nigeria."
Here, he reminded us once again the main mission of the party, and peacefully calling on us, the youths to join and make history this time, and also reminding every political holder, that he/she can never be in power forever, and should instead work on something that would benefit the country at large

5.
"“I thank Bola Tinubu for his single
mindedness and the chairman Akande
for his experience and personal
integrity to help to get this party
firmly on the ground. We in this party
will do everything constitutional to
make sure that the 2015 election is
credible. We are in an extremely
difficult position where a government
is lawless, it is very clear to us and the
international community that
executive governors are the chief law
officers of their states. Courageous
Amaechi has been fighting a
government that is supposed to
support him constitutionally. We and
the rest of Nigeria are absolutely
behind your governor and God willing,
we are going to deliver our country
democratically come 2015, no matter
how negatively other people think,
Nigeria will survive”
In his final statements, he has come out to appreciate those who are making core efforts, and working tiredlessly to save Nigeria from the wrekage, and stated breifly stated the ills of the present government, and the finally, in the name of God, assuring every optimistic Nigerian out there of the survival of the country, despite the pessimism about breaking up

Thank you
