I live in one of the foremost towns in Delta state. None of the basic amenities I use is sourced by the state fund. Not water, not light, not food, not shelter, not roads have any government imput. I am an adult citizen who does not feel the slightest benefit of government. 99 percent of my age group have similar report. Ironically, the funds accruing to the state includes my equitable share. It is either that the funds have been unequitably divided or some thieves have cornered them. Government here is just a gingle that you hear but never feel. Budgets in billions are read yearly but the vast majority remain unaffected. Is this the idea of governance and government?
