Isn't it sickening the kind of sordid stories we hear coming out of Nigeria. How come one rarely hears anything good, It is either one scandal or the other. It is really pathetic. My people what must we do to salvage this country,is there any hope for the common man. Please read through & give me an honest opinion.

Only a few weak denials have followed the charge that each Nigerian senator now goes home with a minimum of N10 million each month. Surely, these are about the happiest times for the nation’s lawmakers and other public officeholders. The severance allowances and pensions paid to former public servants are simply mind-boggling. Yet, this is a country where 80% of young people have no jobs, more than 70% of the people are poor, and a teacher goes home with N15, 000 per month.

It does not matter that the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) - the body used by the ruling class to rig the income policy in Nigeria - recommended the huge sums for public officeholders. What, for instance, do the legislators do to deserve such huge income? How many of them even bother to attend the sittings of the Senate or House of Representatives?

Things cannot get better in a country where public officers are encouraged to loot the treasury by legal or illegal means. RMAFC and its thieving collaborators should be stopped. We all go to the same market.

this is why I say these leaders should start fighting each other over the Niger Delta. Let them begin exposing the real picture of where and how that oil money is being spent, as well as who exactly is spending it.

We need accountability in our leaders. If its this Niger Delta crisis that will unearth the skeletons in people's closets as regards where the lion's share of the oil money is going, then so be it.

Referring to the statement in bold, this is not new @poster. Infact this has been the trend for over 2 decades, coming from Nigeria. Why be irritated now? @Poster. What broke the camel's back?
