Inna-lhamdulilah,

Asalam Alaykum my fellow Muslims,

Umm Habiba, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: If any Muslim servant (of Allah) prays for the sake of Allah twelve rak'ahs (of Sun'an) every day, over and above the obligatory ones, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise, or a house will be built for him in Paradise. (Sahih Muslim)

Fasting, is it necessary?
Re: Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently? by diyobdw(f): 1:50pm On Sep 01, 2007
Absolutely fasting is not only spiritually required of you.It is good for you psyche and your health

"I fast for greater physical and mental efficiency" - Plato

For Body: Juice fasting is the oldest, fastest and safest (biochemical) method of removing unwanted weight and increases physical well-being , helps you to stay slim, healthy and vital, and is a huge help in the breaking of addictions.

For Mind: As the physical body detoxifies, rejuvenates and regenerates, the mind begins to function more efficiently. During the fast, the digestive system has a rest, freeing up energy for other things. This energy is used by the mind - bringing mental clarity. Fasting develops mental will power and increased control over the senses and mind.

For Spirit: All the major religions practice fasting in some form or another. Fasting allows the body and mind to become still, and in the stillness, one is more likely to tune into the secrets of Life, and to connect with Spirit.

Islam teaches peace
By Muhammad Embeay
As-Salaam Alaikun, WaRahamatullah, Wa-Barakatuhoo

May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be with you AMEN
I seek refuge in Allah, against the accursed devil

In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful

", This day have those who disbelieve despaired of harming your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion, "

"Surely, we have created man in the best make. Then if he does evil deeds, We degrade him as the lowest of the low. Save those who believe and do good works, so for them is an unfailing reward."

"They were not commanded but to serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience and being upright and to observe Prayer and pay the Zakaat. That is the right religion." Holy Quran 5:4; 95:5, 6, and 98:6.

ISLAM literally means Peace, surrender of God's Will, and to be in amity and concord. The significance of the name Islam is the attainment of a life of perfect peace and eternal happiness through complete surrender to the Will of God.

Quran, the Holy Book of Moslems, interprets Islam to be the religion, whose teachings are in consonance with human nature.

Islam according to the text, is the completion of the religion inaugurated by God in the beginning of the world, on His sending the Holy Quran through the Holy Prophet Muhamad, on whom, be the peace and blessings of Allah. As a child is taught his alphabet, so God, taught the religion to the world gradually and little by little, by sending His Prophets at different times and to different peoples.

When the world reached the stage of understanding, when it was ready for the final lesson. Allah sent the last and complete Book through the Prophet Muhammad, on whom be the peace and blessings of Allah.

The Holy Quran not only corrects the errors, which had found their way into various religions, but also preaches the truths, which have not been preached before, accounts of special circumstances of the society or the early stages of its development. At the same time it gathers together in itself the truths which were for the guidance of men. Islam meets all the spiritual and moral requirements of an ever advancing humanity.

According to Islam, the object of man's life is its complete unfolding. Islam does not support the idea that man is born in sin. It teaches that everyone has within him the seed of perfect development. It rests solely with a person himself to make or mar his fortune. "We created man in the best make," says the text.

The cardinal doctrine of Islam is the Unity of Allah. Hence, there is none worthy of worship but the one and only God. Muhammad is His Prophet.

Allah is free from all defects, His holy and the transcendent Allah is All Good, Mercy and Power. He has no partner, He neither begets nor is He begotten, because all these are the traits of frail and weak humanity.

Islam helps us to establish a permanent relationship with God and to realise Him during our earthly life as our Helper in all our affairs and undertakings.

This is unity of Allah, is the first and foremost pillar of Islam and every other belief hangs upon it. Islam requires belief in all the Prophets, Moslems should regard them all as heavenly appointed teachers born to reform and regenerate man and lead him to God.

Adherents of some other religions may consider it an act of piety to use disrespectful words and heap abuse on the prophets of other religions, but to establish peace between all religions, Moslems are enjoined not to show the slightest disrespect towards the founder of all other faiths. Rather, they should realise that: "Mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and We have made you tribes and sub-tribes, that you may know one another. "Verily the most honourable, among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you, surely Allah, is All-knowing, All-Aware: Holy Quran 49:14.

So if one is a sincere Moslem, one must always be peaceful all the time and with anybody. In its teachings, Islam has laid down fair rules for the guidance of the rulers and the ruled. Islam says to the rulers that the authority, vested in them is not their private property, but is a trust and that they should discharge the obligations of that trust to the utmost like upright and honest people, and should carry on governance in consultation with the people.

For example, those, who have been endowed with abundance of physical health and strength should not behave oppressively towards the weak nor treat contemptuously those who suffer from some defect or blemish. These conditions ought to excite ones pity rather than ones contempt.

Islam directs the wealthy: "You have been charged with the duty of looking after the poor and you must set aside one fortieth of your substance every year so that it may be employed in the relief of poverty and distress and for the advancement of those who lack the means of advancement."

It teaches them not to enhance the disabilities of the poor by lending money to them on interest, instead, the loan should be interest free if not with free gifts.

Wealth is not given to a man that he may spend his life in luxury and riotous living, but that he should use it for the advancement of the whole of humanity and should thus deserve the best reward.

Allah says in the Holy Quran 55:47 as follows:

"For him who fears to stand before his lord, there are two gardens." The reward of the righteous is plainly spoken of as two gardens in this life and Hereafter. The Garden in this life is the spiritual bliss which the righteous one find here in the doing of good, whereof gardens and rivers and fruits are symbols.

In other words, Garden in this life means peace of mind, which is the result of leading good life, and freedom from gnawing cares and anxieties which come in the wake of life spent in the pursuit of material pleasures and comfort. One garden consists of giving up ones desires for the sake of God in this world and the other in being blessed with Gods pleasure in the next.

The Holy Quran 3:103 - 105 reads.

"O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared; and let not death overtake you except when you are in a state of submission;

And hold fast all together, by the yoke of Allah and be not divided; and remember that favour of Allah which He Allah, bestowed upon when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you become, as brothers and you were on the brink of a pit of fire and He saved, you from it.

This does Allah explain to you. He's commandment that you may be guided; and let there be among your body of men who should invite to goodness, and enjoin equity and forbid evil. And it is they who shall prosper." This leads to the wisdom of Prophet Muhammed on morality.

Moderation in spending is half of the art of living friendliness towards people is half of wisdom; and the right method of enquiry is half of learning.

"O you people: Be temperate and p smileyersevering;

If a man hides inside a rock, which has no opening, big or small, his deeds, good or had, will still become known, whatever he may contrive;

Four things are tokens of good fortune;

a good neighbour;

a virtuous wife;

a good mount; and

a spacious dwelling

Four denote at fortuned;

a bad neighbour, a vicious wife,

a sorry-mount and an oppressive dwelling.

Form a concept of a land by its name and of a person by the company he keeps.

The nearest to me are people who are righteous whoever they be, wherever they be.

I have been sent to complete the structure of good behaviour.

If a person determines upon a virtuous deed but is unable to perform it, Allah records it as one complete virtuous deed in his favour.
If having determined upon it be proceeds to perform it as well, it counts with Allah ten-fold or seven hundred-fold or many hundred-fold.

On the contrary, if a peson conceives of a sinful act but does not perpetrate it, it will count with Allah as one virtuous deed. If he proceeds to commit it, Allah will record it as just one sin.

The glorious Ramadan fast
By Muhammad Embeay
As-Salaam Alaikum, Wa-Rahamatullah, Wa-Barakatuhoo

May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be with you

I seek refuge with Allah, against the accursed devil

In the Name of Allah, the Glorious, the Merciful

"O! You who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was decreed for the people before you, so that you may become righteous with the fear of Allah."-Holy Quran 2:183

EVERY year, the month of Ramadan Fast comes and goes, but how many observers of Ramadan Fast really know the significance and what it means to them and in what way it is beneficial to mankind?

In the first place, the month of Ramadan is a blessed month, the sacred days of God and the period for the acceptance of supplications by the Almighty Allah, the Lord of the Universe.

In fact, Ramadan is the month in which man draws nearer to God - when the barriers of all kinds, separating him from God, his Creator, are absolutely removed and the avenues of approach into HIM are all opened.

Ramadan is also the month which the devotee attains to the object of devotion when the lover meets his beloved and the worshipper sees the object of his adoration.

The burnish sensation of love is soothed during the month of Ramadan and the deep yearning of the soul find means for satisfaction.

The gentle shower of Divine Grace waters the dead souls in a charming manner, giving them life and beautiful verdure to afford pleasure and delight to all who possess eyes. Yes, the days, the dear days, the blissful and the happy days come every year when all Moslems - rich and poor, man or woman, weak or strong - will abandon their sweet sleep in the dead of night (when all the rest of the World is lying unconscious in comfortable beds), prostrating and bending before their creator and most humbly seeking forgiveness for their sins and shedding their pious tears of love and regret from their eyes.

Generally, day is the time for work, but for the Moslems, the blessed nights in the month of Ramadan afford no less duty for Moslems.

They voluntarily flock into the Mosques shortly after midnight and the name of the Creator of heavens and earth resounds in every quarter of the Moslems Community.

The glory, majesty and beauty of God are sung in the sweetest of tones, which touch the very innermost recess of the human soul.

In the month of Ramadan, the Moslems World, from one corner to the other, presents a most wonderful and mysterious spectacles of a host of people devoted to their master and host in his love, bowing down before HIM in the deepest meditation, reverence and ardour.

The importance and significance of the Ramadan month of fasting is distinctively and beautifully described in the Holy Quoran 2:185

It reads: "The Month of Ramadan is that which the Qur'an was revealed as a guidance for mankind with clear proofs of guidance and discrimination.

"Therefore, whosoever of you is present at home in this month, let him fast therein. But whosoever is sick or is on a journey shall fast the same number of other days. Allah desires to give you facility and he desires not hardship for you and that you may complete the number, and that you may exalt Allah for his having guided you and that you may be grateful."

What a Divine injunction!

For Moslems, during the month of Ramadan, special arrangements are made in the days to study the text of the Holy Qur'an and the Hadith (the traditions of the Holy Prophet), peace be on his soul. At night, a Moslem hears the Holy Qur'an repeated in the Tarawih - special prayer and he tries to learn and understand the same in the day.

The scorching wind and the burning heat of the day, at times, proves no handicap to the Moslems in their obedience to the Divine injunction of Allah, their Creator.

"By God the smell of a fasting man is sweeter than musks, scent" says Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of Allah be with his soul, "should the merciful Allah not accept the prayers of his devotes servants? Will he not take compassion upon them? May he not shower upon them the blessings of his infinite grace? Most surely, the merciful Almighty will."

The experience of over 1400 years shows that he has ever been bountifully listening to the humble supplications of his faithful worshippers, devotees and granting them the pleasure of spiritual commission with Him.

At the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan every heart, is full of delight and rejoicing, but the joy is not an unmixed one. For it is a sore grief to think that Moslems have become negligent for a time and do not bother to avail themselves of the bountiful opportunities afforded them by the grace of God. They are slow to partake of heavenly blessings.

Does it mean that the worldly occupations are more to them? Do they think that the joys of this world are sweeter than the bliss of Divine worship? No, it is not so, the reason is that they have not tasted the joys of heaven.

It is said that the continually stuffed body cannot see secret things. There is not doubt about the fact that satiety has a dulling effect on the brain and that over-eating breeds dullness and blunts the higher faculties of the mind, so fasting for a certain period of the year is beneficial for mankind.

Now that this year's Ramadan fast is already with us, it is a bounden duty for every Moslem to know and practice all rules of dos and don'ts throughout the glorious month of Ramadan Fast.

To start with, a Moslem must make up his or her mind during the month to abstain from every kind of food and drink, sexual intercourse and all preliminaries, thereto from dawn till sunset everyday.

"Fasting during everyday of the month of Ramadan" says the Holy Qur'an "is a duty upon all adult Moslems whatever their rank, station, position and condition in life. But it is not good to compel children to fast. Those who are sick or on a journey should not fast, but they should, afterwards, fast for the equal number of days missed before the following month of Ramadan."

Workers on trains or ships are regarded as clerks in the office or going about in circuit and as such, they should fast throughout the month. But expectant mothers as well as nursing ones and those menstruating should not fast. The same thing applies to those who are suffering from permanent disease, which makes them too weak to fast. They are exempted from fasting, but it is desirable for them to feed the poor everyday throughout the period, if possible.

If during the fast, however, a person suddenly becomes sick or is obliged to go on a journey, that person should break the fast and then repeat it afterwards.

The fast still remains valid, if at any time during the month, a person has unknowingly taken food or water.

"God has provided that person with food," says the Holy Prophet. The usage of chewing stick and perfume does not interfere with one's fast in any way, but any person who breaks his fast without a genuine reason, will have to take 60 extra fasts continuously instead of 30 ordinary fasts. If he is unable to do this, he should feed 60 poor people and in addition take the missing fasts.

Fasting elevates the faithful to the higher stage of spirituality, it brings passion under control, it makes the soul shine, gives taste in prayer, removes the false sense of prestige, ostentation, saves time and trouble, helps economy, contributes to the preservation of health, teaches democracy, moral discipline and it keeps faith in God a living force.

In one of his traditions, the Holy Prophet says: "Fasting and the Qur'an will intercede for a man. Fasting will say, "O Lord, I denied him food and marital intercourse during the daytime, so make me an intercessor for him and the Holy Qur'an will say: "I denied him sleeps during the night, so make me an intercessor for him; so they will both intercede."

"There is forgiveness for his people in the last night of Ramadan. It was questioned. O! messenger of Allah, is it the blessed night? No, said he, but as for a worker, his wages will be given in full, when he finished his work. There is almsgiving for everything and the almsgiving for the body is fasting.

Illumine your heart by hunger and strive to conquer yourself by hunger and thirst, continue to knock at the gate of paradise by hunger during the month of Ramadan."

All Moslems, are, therefore, required to fast faithfully during the month of Ramada, and to endure hunger and thirst for God's sake from morning till evening. This creates in their minds a capacity for the right estimation of their trouble and thereby kindles desires to keep their virtues during the month of Ramadan and throughout the remaining months of the year.

How many men fast, who have nothing of fasting but thirst and how many men stand up to pray all night who have nothing of prayer except keeping awake? Backbiting vitiates ablution and fasting. A man whilst fasting must abstain from all bad expressions and not resent an injury. A keeper of fast, who does not abandon lying and slander, Allah cares not about his leaving off eating and drinking, that is, Allah does not accept his fasting).

If you are challenged or teased, the person should be told: "please, I am fasting, twice, at least.

"As you keep on fasting," says the Holy Prophets "you eat also, as you stay awake at night so also you should find time to sleep, for verily, there is a duty on you to your body not to labour over much so that you may not get ill and destroy yourself; and verily there is a duty on you to your eyes, you must sometimes sleep and give them rest, verily there is a duty on you to your wife and to your visitors that come to see you, you must talk to them."

Above all, whoever fasted during Ramadan month and then fasted for six days in the following months of SHAWAL, he was like one who has been fasting all his life.

May the merciful Allah make this year's Ramadan Fast a source of blessings for all mankind. Aameen!

Sawn (Islamic fast) is the only form of Islamic Ibadah (worship) which Allah has kept its reward to Himself.

The Holy Prophet (saw) says: 'every good deed of the son of Adam would be multiplied, a god deed receiving a tenfold to seven hundred fold reward. Allah, the Exalted and Majestic has said ; with the except of Fasting, for it is done for ME and I will give reward for it, for one abandoning his passion and food for My sake. (Sahih Muslim vol. 2 page 559)

Fasting is a symbol of our unbounded devotion to Allah.

If Salat (prayer) is the head, Sawn is the heart, just as you must not leave out the stated Salat, you must not leave Fasting in the month of Ramadhan. 'What prayers seek to do five times a day, Fasting in the month of Ramadhan DOES once a year ( Abdul A'la Mawdudi, Towards Understanding Islam, page 137).

Fasting is a place of rest for the body and relaxation for the soul. It's a great step along the way of achieving our real goals of life. It's an active action, in spirit as well as form. It's one of the driving force behind our actions.

Ibn Al-Qayyim says" Fasting is most efficacious in the protections of the external limbs and internal organs. It guards against disorders resulting from the accumulation of the effete matter. It expels the toxins that are injrious to helath and cures the ailments which develop in the body due to over-indulgence. It is beneficial for health and most helpful in leading a life of piety and good doing.

Quran 2 v 183 - 185

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that ye may ward off evil; fast a certain number of days; and to him who is sick among you, or on a journey, (the same) number of other days; and for those who can afford it there is a ransom; the feding of a man in need - but whose doth good of his own accord, it is better for him, and that ye fast is better for you if ye did but know.

The month of Ramadhan in which was revelaed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, let him fast the same number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you, and He desireth that you should complete the period; and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradvenmture ye may be thankful.

Admittedly, the Holy Prphet considers Fasting and Salat as twin moded of worship in their place, importance and outcome.

Twofold I learned, is the purpose of this month of fasting , social responsibility is being hammered into human consciousness as a religion postulate, the other purpose of fasting is self discipline, an aspect of individual morality strongly accentuated in all Islamic teachings.

Fasting is an institution for the purification of the soul, is common to all divine religions. It was established among the Jews and Christians. On the other hand, this does not mean that the Muslim Fasting is like other fasts in the number of days, in the time or manner.

All ancients and legislations were familiar with fasting as an act of repentance, of atonement, or a preparatory rite before some act of Holy eating or an initiation or mourning ceremony.

In Islam, fasting is primarily an institution for spiritual discipline and self control.

It has been ordanined as a religious duty for the Muslims for subduing their lust and keeping their appetites well within reasonable bounds so that man may not become their (lust and appetites) slave and lose control over himself.

It goes without saying that the exercise of abstaining from things that are lawful in the ordinary course of life, cat the orer of Allah, strengtens our morality and deepens in us the consciousness of the Lord. This is what distinguishes fasting in Islam from fasting in other religions.

Fasting is the first and foremost motivation of moral and spiritual training, on the other hand, and of perfect cheerful obedience to the Lord - but not for complete renunciation (self denial) on the other hand.

Other distinguishing features of our Fasting are:

1. Being fixed in time

2. Being stated in method

3. Total abstinence

4. Being operative in the whole of he Muslim community.

5. Being a harmonizing means to bridge life and religion, body and soul

6. Surrounding the fasters with dignity.

6. Forgiving inadvertent errors.

All the above named ponts, and others mentioned before have been beautifully designed, moulded, built up, and ordained by the will of Allah to make the last divine picture of Sawn i.e the Islamic Fast, exclusively for this nation of Islam.

The bonds of Islam and the foundations of religion are three; Islam has been built on them. So he who leaves out any of them, he becomes an outlawed disbeliever.

Shedding light on the adavantages of fasting, Islamic correspondence course mentions : through fasting, the primary benefits is that we learn self-restraint, discipline of our appetites, and flexibility of our habits. Over indulgence in eating, drinking, smoking or marital relations makes one slave of his desires and habits. Through fasting, those who are well-off learn to appreciate the afflications of the poor- hunger and thirst - and become more sympathetic towards them. When a person fasts, he feels that he is joining the whole Muslim world in a spiritual act, thus increasing his sense of community and brotherhood.

Hammudah Abdalati, while explaining the spiritual meaning of Islamic fast says: "when Islam introduced this matchless institution, it planted an evergrowing tree of finite virtues and invaluable products".

"It teaches man the principal of sincere love, because when he observes fasting, he does it out of deep love. And the man who loves God truly is a man who really knows what love is."

"It cultivates in a man a vigilant and sound conscience, because the fasting person keeps his fast in secret as well as in public. In fasting, especially, there is no mundane authority to check man's behaviour or compel him to observe fasting".

"It originates in man the real spirit of special belonging, of unity and brotherhood, of equality before God as well as the Law.

It provides man with transparent Soul to trascend, a clear mind to think and a light body to move and act. All this is the never-failing result of carrying a light stomach. Medical instructions, biological rules, and intellectual experience attest this fact.

Fasting teaches us trustfulness and sincerity, because when we observe fasting, we do that for Allah's sake and this is what lead us to be accustomed to righteousness which guides us to paradise.

Fasting imbibes us with honesty and reliability. Only fasters can keep their limbs free from misdeeds and bridle their passions patiently, hence they become honest and reliable to carry the Islamic mission to the world.

It infuses faithlessness, fidelity and new life into Muslim. It is a covenmant between the creator and His creatures to keep away all things that break fast during the fasting time such as eating, drinking, sexual affections, telling lies, slander, backbiting etc. He who observes fast accordingly to the above-presented pact, will be faithful, happy and at ease even in the next life.

Fasting generates patience and endurance in the Muslim society. It is a strict sel training. It provides the Muslim with the ability of experincing the pains of deprivation, hunger, thirst and keeping from flesh. It's the practical shield which helps us not only to face difficulties of life but also to cope with them.

Fasting founds steadfastness and firmness in the Muslim society. It teaches us how to build firm will and avoid swinging among the wills ofthe Devil. A believer, by dint of this Duty, stands on a solid rock of rightness and conviction. And he seeks only Allah'a acceptance. He directs his thoughts and actions as well as exerts influence on those of others.

Fasting infuses courage and will power into Muslims. It's only fasters who can place themselves above their sensual appetites.

Fasting teaches us self respect. When a man controls himself, he learns how to be a good servant to his creator alone. It is a leading manner of behaviour in which we refuse humiliation in all its forms except that of Allah.

It urges all muslims to be generous in what concerns money, generous in giving help, Fasting is the season of charity, devotion and comfort.

Lastly, fasting is an outstanding aspect of solidarity, unity and equality of the Muslim society. It emphasizes the essential equality of men thus goes a long way towards creating in them sentiments of love and brotherhood.

No, they are not superior to us. Mankind are equal, regardless of color, race, ethnicity etc. God is not interested in our outside but what is in us. i.e the kind of person, how righteous we are.

The best of the Believers is the most excellent of them in character.” [Ibn Majah, Sahih]

“The best of the Believers with respect to Islam is the one from whose hand and tongue the Muslims are safe; and the best of the Believers with respect to Iman are the most excellent of them in character; and the best of those who migrate is he who migrates from that which Allah the Most High has prohibited; and the best of Jihad is when one strives against his soul for the sake of Allah, the Mighty, the Magnificent.” [Tabarani, Sahih]

“The best of mankind is the believer between two honorable persons.” [Tabarani, Sahih]

Dear Sir, please what did Jesus christ (PBUH) told you to do when you enter any house and what did he say when he stood in the midst of his disciples after resurrecting in the bible?

The problem is not saying a specific thing but using a specific language. Why can't you say "peace be upon you" in Yoruba? Why must it be Arabic.Christians do not feel the need to greet each other in Aramaic or Greek or English. Why do African Muslims feel the need to spout Arabic?

No, they are not superior to us. Mankind are equal, regardless of color, race, ethnicity etc. God is not interested in our outside but what is in us. i.e the kind of person, how righteous we are.

What you think you know of God was passed on to you by an Arab.No Arabs,no Islam.Your prayers,clothing,names,practices.e.t.c are often a product of the Arab world.

That to me is symptomatic of cultural superiority. If all cultures were equal, why the pre-eminence of one particular culture-Arab culture-in your religion? Would the Arabs have done the same if the reverse was the case?Absolutely not.

would the British have done the same if the reverse was the case, would they named their kids or themselves, ifeanyi, emeka, ikechukwu in stead of peaches, brooklyn and apple; would theywear red hats blah blah blah if Nigerians introduced them to the religion?

dont assume im following the convo, im just rambling as usual cheesy

My dear friend, you know that Arabic is the universal language for muslims all over the world. Now considering this scenario, if muslims are allowed to greet using different languages, how will an Arab in france greet the french speaking people when he cant speak french and vice versa? How will a portuguese greet an african in which both do not understand each other's language? How will Hausa man greet a Yoruba man and How will an Ibo guy greet a Yoruba guy in which none understands each other's language?

Arabic being a universal language for all muslims make it easier for muslims to exchange pleasantries irrespective of their language, race, color, etc. The language also foster unity among muslims in the sense that we recite the same chapter, verse, recite same thing when we bow, when we prostrate etc.

In addition, its not only African muslims that are learning Arabic, the Arab themselves are learning their language because if you are conversant with the Quran, you will see that some of the words used are different from the Arabic being spoken in Saudi Arabia.

Thank you sir and please dont come here again oooo grin grin grin
