The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board said on Monday that it was working towards releasing examination results the day they were taken.

“We are working towards releasing results hours after the exams are conducted.

“The target is to eventually adopt e-examination where candidates get their results almost immediately after finishing,” said JAMB Registrar Prof. Dibu Ojerinde.

Ojerinde told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the plan was to ensure efficiency and to correct the erroneous impression that scores of candidates were usually inflated.

“Our plan is to correct the erroneous impression that scores of candidates were usually inflated there by casting doubt at the credibility of the board‘s examinations,” he said.

Ojerinde said the quick release of the Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Examination Matriculation Examination was a pointer that the plan was attainable.

“You will recall that during the conduct of the examination on August 23, I did promise that the results would be released as soon as possible.

“We have lived up to that promise by releasing the results on August 29 about a week after they were conducted,” he said.
