Ask people like Afeni. They are among us, posting on this forum, talking murder as if it's a normal thing.

No, rather, ask some of those in the North who are actually conducting the murder of innocents as if it's a normal thing.

Even in the East, there are a lot of assasinations. Someone who doesn't believe in violence won't kill. sad

People who don't believe in violence don't kill.

They send others to do that for them.

There is a wonderful book out about American soldiers, from a soldier. Who shows that Americans actually hate soldiers and to see soldiers because it reminds them of the things they just want the soldiers to do but do not want to know about the soldiers doing it.

He shows that after every war in all of America's history, the treatment of the returning soldiers has always been bad.

Returning Viet Nam vets were not treated right when they got home back in the day, Drusilla, but in this post 9-11 world, GI's arriving stateside after tours duty in Iraq are in fact welcomed as heroes in the global war on terror.

Returning to the thread topic, it should not surprise anyone that murder is seen as an expeditious political and business maneuver in Nigeria. Since the concept of forensics, evidence gathering and fingerprint analysis all remain distant abstractions to the Nigerian police force, murders are only ever solved when informants step forward, but even then freedom for the accused is just one requested bribe away.

Jakumo,

The soldier talked about the parades and welcome home events of all wars. The disconnection and not wanting to see the soldiers happens after that.
