Reports have it that the Secretary to the Federal Government, Baba Gana Kingibe has been sacked. He is being replaced with by the Defence Minister Yayale Ahmed,

This is good news cos kingibe has been over dominating and misleading the president, He styled himself the defacto president with all immodesty,

I have learnt not to celebrate anything from Presidency these days, because you never know whether it is the President signing off these others or the person closest to his sick bed.

I understand you source of happiness, but I don't know if this is good news or not. Because nobody knows if this is simply one group out maneuvering the other in the aso rock power game where unfortunately there is no leader.

Yar'adua has not even addressed the Nation to tell us whether he is ok or not, and Bingo!!!!! Babagana Kingibe sacked.

How do we know it is actually Yaradua sacking Kingibe.??

These news has been the shock in the villa all day, feelers have it that Kingibe fed the northern political caucus with alarmist tales of the presidents health and how Turai was the one controlling Mr Yaradua for her selfish reason, King also accused Turai of keeping them in the dark bout the president true state of health during his famous haj trip.

Saharareporters, New York
The secretary to the federal government and "June 12" turncoat, Alhaji Baba Gana Kingibe has become the first of cabinet officials to be removed by Yar'adua.

Kingibe who strolled into the ceremony where newly promoted military officers were decorated received his letter of sack shortly after the event was over. He was replaced with current minister of defence, Alhaji Ahmed Yayale.
The planned removal of Baba Gana Kingibe was first reported by SaharaReporters in June 2008 as Yar'adua began to think of changing his lackluster cabinet.
SaharaReporters has also received solid information that the entire cabinet of Yar'adua will be dissolved on Wednesday if his health and composure permits, sources knowledgeable about the workings of Yar'adua government told SaharaReporters that the "entire" cabinet will be sacked while new faces will be brought in to replace the old players in his government.

Investigations reveal scams by Umaru Yar’adua regime

A plethora of recent revelations about former President Olusegun Obasanjo's scam-infested administration has blinded Nigerians to the shady practices that the Umaru Yar'adua regime has instituted in Nigeria in the last one year.

Nothing exposes this fact more than the expose at the National Assembly where several investigations into the previous administration have unearthed alarming information about the fraud perpetrated by the Yar'adua's regime.

Last week, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, Nigeria’s Minister of Transport who is close both to Yar’adua and his deputy, Jonathan Goodluck, was in the spotlight following allegations that her ministry made massive withdrawals within four days in late December of 2007.

Saharareporters has also learned about an unreported revelation by Nigerian Custom officials about Yar’adua’s questionable gift of import duty waivers. Obasanjo’s government gave away import duties worth N1.6 trillion to political associates, businessmen, traditional and religious leaders as well as many women linked to him romantically. But a top Customs official also revealed that the Yar'adua regime in the last year has given out concessions worth N85 billion to his business and political associates for the importation of cement and fertilizers.

While these economic scams were playing out in both chambers of the National Assembly last week, a PDP memo also surfaced tacitly calling for the extension of Yar'adua's tenure from four to seven years. The ruling party’s position is an official follow-up to a campaign started by the corrupt former governor of Jigawa State, and now Senator, Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki.

Several sources in Abuja had told Saharareporters that Alhaji Turaki, who was widely dismissed when he first suggested extending Yar’adua’s term, was not working alone. He had Yar’adua’s blessing and full support in what political analysts regard as an insidious resurrection of the third term agenda that was unsuccessfully pursued by Obasanjo.

Yar'adua has charged his former Secretary to the Katsina State government and current Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Abba Ruma, to fund his own version of the third term campaigns. Alhaji Ruma is to “re-invest” massive profits to be made from fertilizer concessions to fund the campaigns. As Yar’adua’s government focuses on massive funding of power and energy projects, Abba Ruma is angling to become the next minister of Energy (Power).

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) officials have already put in place a plan and structure to embark on the seven-year tenure campaigns. A source within the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) told Saharareporters that the campaign is expected to commence about the same time the PDP re-absorbs a number of old PDP members who earlier decamped to other parties. Some of the newly absorbed members, whom our source described as “badly broke,” are to be offered “financial incentive to anchor the seven-year tenure campaign,” our source revealed.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke has reportedly gone into frenzied mode to defend her ministry’s scandalous withdrawals. A source close to her told us that she blames the embarrassing revelation of the withdrawals—made by Senator Patricia Akwashiki—as the culmination of “an on-going plot to replace her as a minister.” The source said she had survived so far thanks to the strong resistance by Yar'adua's vice, Jonathan Goodluck, to whom she is said to be “specially close.” But another source told Saharareporters that Mrs. Allison-Madueke also enjoys “very, very cozy relations” with Yar'adua. The source said that whenever she arrives to meet with Yar'adua, other presidency officials quickly leave the room. The source explained that the Transport minister’s ties to Yar’adua explain her recent fashion transformation “to dress more like a Muslim woman.”

It is unclear what will become her fate, though one of our sources said she would likely remain in the cabinet saddled with another portfolio since she is the only member of the cabinet nominated by Jonathan. One Presidency source told our correspondent that Yar'adua had met with her to get her side of the story, and may have decided to let things cool off as he headed out on a foreign trip today. He arrived earlier today in Egypt on a trip to a meeting of the African Union

One thing was clear, said our source: that Yar’adua was not thinking to call in officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the N30-billion scandal. This is in sharp contrast with the case of former Minister of Health, Adenike Grange, and Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello. Even so, our source said Yar'adua was troubled by a security report that Mrs. Madueke had purchased a multi-million-naira home in Abuja in the name of her young son. He added that Yar’adua has been seriously contemplating dropping Mrs. Allison-Madueke and, the minister of state for Agriculture and Water resources, Ademola Seriki from his cabinet. Also slated to leave the Presidency is Mr. Baba Gana Kingibe, Yar’adua’s Secretary to the Government, who is described as “a perpetually drunk, incompetent and corrupt.”, if Kingibe is eventually edged out he will likely be replaced by the current minister for defense, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed. The cabinet reshuffle is scheduled for between now and two weeks time. But as one Aso Rock observer quipped, “That’s if the president ever manages to get to the cabinet reshuffle folder.”

Yar'adua's political scam artistry is also playing out in Adamawa Sate where he recently abandoned his “non-interference” posture to force members of the state assembly to abandon their plan to impeach the state governor, Mr. Murtala Nyako.

Last week, the state assembly members had handed an impeachment notice to Nyako. The notice detailed his numerous acts of corruption, self-enrichment and abuse of office. But Yar'adua, who once stated that he would not intervene in a popular move to oust former Speaker Patricia Etteh of the House of Representatives, invited the members of the Adamawa legislature to Aso Rock. An authoritative source, a member of the assembly, told Saharareporters that they were offered N25 million each as bribe to stop Nyako’s impeachment.

A member of the House of Representatives also recently told our correspondent that, contrary to his public posturing, Yar’adua did intervene in a failed effort to help former Speaker Patricia Etteh to retain her job. “Even though Yar’adua didn't publicly intervene in the Etteh saga, he was using Dr. Aminu Shuaibu Safana to buy loyalty for Etteh,” said our source. Safana, who slumped and died while supporting Etteh during a rowdy legislative session, once served as Yar'adua's Secretary to the State Government in Katsina.

“That’s why we were able to remove Etteh only after Dr. Safana died,” said our source
More to come,

BBc report:

Nigerian leader appears in public

President Umaru Yar'Adua refuses to say exactly what he suffers from
Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua has appeared in public for the first time in two weeks, marked by speculation and rumour about his health.

He presided over the swearing-in of new military chiefs in the capital Abuja.

The president, who suffers from a chronic condition which affects his kidneys, was receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia.

President Yar'Adua also sacked a high-ranking government official who had been linked with the rumours.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation Baba Gana Kingibe was removed and replaced by former Defence Minister Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, it was announced by e-mail.

Constitutional problem

The president's continued ill-health posed a problem for Nigeria's constitution, political scientists told the BBC.

If he were to step down, or die, he must be replaced by Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan, who is from the country's southern Delta region.

But according to the ruling People's Democratic Party's own formula for sharing power among the country's regions, the president must be a northerner.

Rumours circulating among journalists and political pundits said the president was going to step down because of his ill-health and Mr Kingibe would step in as a kind of "puppet-master" Vice-President.

Mr Kingibe, from Borno state in north-west Nigeria, was the vice-presidential running mate in the 1993 elections, annulled by former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida.

He was also Minister for the Interior under Mr Babangida's successor General Sani Abacha.

It was during this time that Shehu Yar'Adua, the current president's brother, was imprisoned.

Shehu Yar'Adua, a former vice-president, died in jail.

'Pilgrimage'

When he left Nigeria, President Yar'Adua said he was going to Saudi Arabia to visit the Muslim holy city of Mecca.

Rumours about his worsening state of health spread after it was confirmed he was in a hospital in Jeddah.

Spokesman for the opposition Action Congress (AC) Lai Mohammed told the BBC's News website the country was on "auto-pilot".

President Yar'Adua has suffered from a condition affecting his kidneys for at least 10 years.

He has twice been flown to Germany for emergency medical treatment in the last 18 months.

Mr Yar'Adua has refused to say exactly what condition he suffers from, and has repeatedly said in interviews that his life is "in the hands of God."

Sorry folks; it seems to me that Nigeria is being re-arranged just in-case of In-caseCity.

Hang on and let us watch Nigerian politics "the real politics", indeed.

Long life Yar'Adua.
IBB as a president would have accomplished a lot of positive things by now in Nigeria. He knows what is missing, he knows how to restore things back to normal and he knows the right folks that will get the job done correctly and quickly.

It is obvious to me that many of us clearly do not completely understand this country; Nigeria is not an ordinary country and can never be ruled by just anybody.

IBB is a terrible man that can not be trusted; but what have your people done for you lately, I just want to know how long folks are willing to wait for this miracle to occur!

I still think that at this moment in Nigeria, IBB is a better the right man for the job.

@BigB, what
Nigerians will be displaying absolute idiocy if we were to have a man like Babandigger as leader again. A man who proved his horrific leadership attributes by leading us down a path from which we are yet to recover is the man you claim to be right man? Please tell me you're just joking.

When a man falls into a gutter one day, it will be a mistake but if he falls into the very same gutter the next day, he has to be considered either blind or stupid.

@MAMAJAMA:
No need to go there anymore with you; the facts are out there and the real politicians in Nigeria clearly understand these facts.

IBB may not be the better man for the job, but he is absolutely the right man for the job at this time.

For example: as Joe Biden continues to be the better VP for Obama, Hillary Clinton on the other hand still maintains the right VP for Obama at this moment in the race.
We must understand the difference between "The Better Man and The right Man" and when to apply each of them
appropriately.

Sometimes to get there, you must bite the bullet; most of our problems in Nigeria will be solved as soon as Nigerians in Nigeria (forget those Maricon Nigerians that make so much noise outside Nigeria and show very little action) learn how to bite the bullet.

Everything in life is a risk; but to me, selecting IBB as the president at this time in Nigeria is the right risk.

Sorry guys, this is just the way I feel.

Long Life Yar'Adua!

@BIGB1 I cant wait to see the expresion on your face when Obama hit home run with Joe Biden.

We are talking of change and not the same rhetoric slogan of the same old politicians.

Clinton does not represent change, althouse she broke the barrier of ceiling glass.

IBB has no intrest in ruling Nigeria ever again after he was disgraced out of the race by Ribadu and Obj.

We as Nigerians does not need his help. Thanks
