[size=15pt]Dad drags son to police over alleged robbery[/size]

A middle-aged man, identified as Onaolapo Oloyede from Agbongbon area of Ibadan, Oyo State, has dragged his 25-year-old son to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) office in Dugbe, over his alleged involvement in robbery operations in the community.


Nigerian Tribune learnt that the father had warned his son to stop being a member of a robbery gang which had been terrorising residents of the area to which he refused.


The father was also said to have narrated to men of the SARS how his son had threatened to kill him with a gun for attempting to stop the operation of the gang.


It was gathered that the complainant also accused his son of allegedly embezzling N500,000 he was supposed to remit to his master, who gave him a trailer to drive, adding that his son was arrested by the police over the case and was released after he intervened.


The SARS men was said to have stormed the residence of the accused while a locally-made gun, quantities of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and charms were recovered.


While confirming the arrest of suspect, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bisi Okuwobi, said police detectives were investigating the activities of the suspect.
