Nine months have gone now and very soon, CAF and BBC will be nominating for African POtY. From my point of view, no African player has shaken the world this year. Regular contenders Drogba,Eto'o and Essien did not have a particularly great year like the last 3 years. Injury did not help them all. Yakubu banged in goals but not convincing enough to tip him for the award. If JJ had done this year what he did in Bolton and for Super Eagles 2002-2004, he would have easily clinched the award in a year like this, but unfortunately for him he shone at a time Eto'o was just too hot. This just is just not competitive. I personally see Muntari as Africa's best in 2008. Did a great work at Portsmouth, for Ghana and already has a trade-mark rocket goal to his credit ijn Inter, before the red-card ban he's serving now. |

eldee: Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, how can I forget Adebayor  ?I think think Adebayor is actualising his dream this year. I have read him in the past saying his target was to win APOtY. He has it this year, obviously!!! |

Zaki will win it. He has CAN 2008 to show for it and if his performance at Wigan this season counts, he is the best African talent out there now. |

The guy Zaki has been fantastic no doubt, but I don't see him giving Adebayor any serious challenge. Adebayor has it. |
