The team looked lopsided against Argentina and the pitch looked too big consequently. It is why our matches sometimes has an amateurish quality. Algeria looked balanced but they don't have that unidentifiable Nigerian phenomenon, that weird sort of gift that makes Nigeria surprise people.

On a purely technical level, our defense looked poor (lets be frank) I'm not a fan of the goalkeeper. I'm not sure he has performed saves beyond the acumen of other goalkeepers for example the way that American goalkeeper has kept America in games.

Nigeria, Algeria or the USA may be in the slipstream of history. By the slipstream of history, i mean that unknowable phenomena that occurs every now and then sweeping things along to an emotional conclusion that everyone can see coming but can do nothing to stop - remember Paolo Rossi ? so, yeah, maybe just maybe History in the making.

If we had goalkeeper Friedel we'd beat France. As it is, i think that France has it to loose by being overconfident. Nigeria is a nation that does best when underestimated and disappoints when looked on positively.


Sticking my neck out I'd say if France does not trash us we'll beat them. I mean we're more likely to be the winners of a close game
