cbrass: As I am typing this post to my website is being attacked from a place in Japan, what these sily guy(s) are/is doing is to eat my bandwidth, they keep posting rubbish into the comment box I attached to each post, they found their way into my database, even though I have changed my cpanel pass but this is still going on. Have mailed my host, but I just want to see what I can do before they do something

I like not to say what i did not want to not say i said,
because saying what was not said i say, may not have a say
in what i did not say i won't say. This made me say that, not
saying what people didn't say was not said by people, have
no way of not really making me not to say the things not
said.
So, in other words, i don't like saying what many did not say
i didn't say i said, without not saying the said reason it
wouldn't have not been said.

Friend, if it were your effort that built this, i don't think u need to fear. Switch the dns management to another server. Then gather and treat all your backup files. Don't forget to install the captcha as well before restoring the site.

Yea you are right Bro although it worried me at first , thank God you didn't talk, it added to my knowledge cos I figured another way out

Iam_Godzilla: I wouldn't suggest blocking ip adresses, why? Because of 1. What if I goto japan and decide to visit ur site?
2. What if am using an isp in nigeria that somewhat uses some technology in japan, which gives a japan ip address...
3. If you do not want to use captcha, why not use the mathematical form, where they just have to add or subtract numbers! That isn't much.
4. You could go through your logs and find out what ip address has been visiting your site, and if possible what page of the site. Its from there you could find what 'specific ip address to block'
But u should also know, hackers,spammers don't usually use their real ip addresses....
5. As for akismet.....I only know its been used on cms .but hey google is your friend.

please how can I add that mathematical verification to my blogger blog cos am having the problem of spam comments in huge numbers plus there's one stupi.d crawler that keeps coming to my blog, not from a search engine but from one stu.pid site(semalt.semalt.com/crawler) can you also help me on how to block it.
