Will Nigeria Survive Terrorism ? by julybaba(m): 9:11am On Jul 05, 2014
Exactly 38 years ago, specifically on 27th June, 1976, specially-trained and well-rehearsed terrorists
hijacked a French-owned passenger plane heading to France from Israel and filled with Israeli citizens, Jews of other nationalities, and other non-Jews. The plane was first forced to fly to Benghazi, Libya to refuel and 7 hours later took off and arrived at Entebbe Airport in Uganda in the afternoon of the following day 28th June, 1976. The buffoonish Ugandan unelected “president” Idi Amin personally welcomed the terrorist and assured them of the support of both the Ugandan Army and the Ugandan Air Force (Uganda had no navy because of being completely landlocked) because the clownish (but unscrupulous) mass- murderer Idi Amin was at the time (and till his death) a subscriber to fierce anti-Semitism. With this assurance, the terrorists quickly commenced their plan, separating non-Jewish passengers from the Israelis and non-Israeli Jewish passengers. The non- Jews were then freed but the Israeli citizens were withheld and the world was told that if some specific terrorists (53 in number) imprisoned in Israel, Kenya, France, Switzerland and West Germany were not released, the abducted Israeli citizens would be murdered within 3 days. As a country that learns from experience, Israel knew that the terrorists would do what they (the terrorists) promised if their demands were not met so the Israeli Armed Forces secretly started planning how to counter-attack the terrorists to free their citizens to avoid a repetition of the May 1970 Avivim School Bus Massacre (in which terrorists attacked a school bus filled with primary school children and killed everyone in it in the town of Avivim, Israel) or the May 1972 Lod Airport Massacre ( in which terrorists killed dozens of people and injured scores more at Lod Airport, Tel Aviv, Israel before the terrorists were captured or killed).
So it came to pass that on the night of 4th July,
1976, Israel launched Operation Entebbe when 100
Israeli commandos ( under the command of Lieutenant- Colonel Yonatan Netenyahu, the brother of the present Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu) flew 4,000 kilometers from Israel to Entebbe, Uganda, murdered all the terrorists keeping their citizens hostage (including dozens of Ugandan soldiers supporting the terrorists), blew up dozens of Ugandan military planes in the immediate vicinity, loaded all their rescued citizens in Israeli planes and flew back to Israel, the whole rescue operation lasting just 90 minutes.
Israel is a small country with a land area (half of
which is the Negev Desert) less than Nigeria’s Jigawa State and a population that is even till today half of Nigeria’s Lagos State yet this country that thrives on agricultural economy (because it has no crude oil like Nigeria) was able to get the adequate weapons for itself, get the adequate training for its military personnels and get the adequate willpower to travel 4,000 kilometers (about 122 times the distance from England to France) outside its own national boundary to rescue its kidnapped citizens from the clutches of terrorists but Nigeria that is 42 times bigger than Israel, 21 times more populous than Israel, and make more money than Israel (due to the multi-billion dollar value of Nigeria’s crude oil deposits) simply could not rescue few hundreds of its kidnapped citizens from the unusually sharp claws of Boko Haram terrorists right under its nose inside its own national boundary. What then, is the future of the country, will we ever be able to counter terrorism? Lord have mercy...

You cant compare Israel with Nigeria.

Israel may be small in number, but the patriotism of one single Israeli will dwarf the effort of all Nigerians.

Nigeria is not a nation! It is geographical location desginated by slave masters for their selfish interests.

There is nothing a patriot cant do for his nation. Here, our soldiers sell weapons and information to terrorists.

The Biafrans fought Nigeria, Britain, Russia and others with hunger and bare hands for three years, now that is patriotism!

Israelis have a national ideology, national pride and honour.

Please, what is the national ideology of Nigeria? A country where a child who scored 69% is denied admission, while the one that scored 1% is offered the same admission is simply a mockery of a nation.

What on earth can I have in common with men like Yerima whose mission to senate is to entrench molestation of female children into the constitution, in the name of marriage?

Ten men bound by patriotism can do much more than a thousand men divided in ideology the way Nigerians are.

That is why some of us are calling for a split so we can move forward at our own pace.

To that, they call us names!

The only thing that beats terrorism is discipline, the country has to be strenuously discipline to be able to counter it.Even uk or america with all their security networks and intelligence are not 100 full proof but they manage to keep up with it.

In a system that is endemically corrupt, nothing whatsoever can be under control.

Must we split to make a change? Are we the only country in the world with diverse culture and belief. Please, what can (we) do to make things right?

Yes. Once we change this leadership, we will crush it from all front (Force, economically, educationally and Intelligence Gathering). Any Politician we find that sponsor them will be made to beg bread. Anyone that offer them bread will be made to also beg for food.

This incompetence will not last forever.

If the Events in Iraq and Syria are anything to go by, Nigeria is in Danger of Breaking up!
Iraq today is not just facing the Problem of ISIS being a viable State, The Declaration of Independence by Kurdistan spells the End of a United Iraq forever!
If for any Reason, the Events in the Middle East escalates, plus the various Unrest that may arise during and after the 2015 Elections may lead to the Army being Overstretched!
At this Point, various Parts of the Country nursing Secession ambitions may seize the Opportunity to fill the Security vacuum that would Ensue(what the Kurdish did)! Biafran Zionists could Overun the Military Installations in Ohafia, Obinze, Enugu and Onitsha, seizing a lot opf Hardware within Days with active collusion of Igbo members of the Army, same will be replicated in the West, while the North is in Chaos!
There will be no United Army to put down the Rebellion!

The Events in the Middle East today are an Eye Opener!

It is wise to ( at least for a moment) wish this country well. Conceiving plans of separation will only lead to war, bitterness and backwardness. It was the biafran war, that sow tha seed of separation among us today. We can't afford to get it wrong again. The destiny of our Nigeria is in our hands. U & I

There is fantasy and there is reality. The dream of a united Nigeria is gone way beyond fantasy to outright joke. There's always a consequence for a man's action - good or bad. The declaration of Biafra had unforeseen and avoidable harsh consequences for her patriots, leadership, and innocent young children who lived in the young nation during those horrific times. Also, the killing and maiming of millions of little children in the name of forcing them back to a house their fathers voluntarily deserted has a consequence too. As if that's not enough, the manner in which the savagery was done and coupled with the glaring endless taunting, indifference, and triumphalism of the supposedly "victors," one can't help but wonder where the "one Nigerianists" expect the supposedly "vanquished" to get their patriotism from.

Anyways, Nigeria needs no war to rot away. Its a house of cards that voluntarily allowed termites in its foundation. Go check out Dailytrust. Read how over 200 people were slaughtered in Kadunna alone. Tell us who's doing the slaughtering - does anyone know? Or is it a case of hushed killing by the same unrepentant aggressors? You see, that's the point. No one cares in Nigeria anymore provided the termite is not eating the foundation underneath their own room. The current mindset is: other rooms can fall just not mine. The victors are slaughtering fellow victors, the vanquished are also getting caught in the crossfire once in a while, the army is too compromised to help, the nation is riddled with mutual distrust and antipathy, and the leadership can't find any ingenious way to lock genie back in the bottle. The whole dream/"one Nigeria" project seems to be one boiling soup of different combustible mixtures.

Action begets reaction. The consequence of brutal repressions by those who believe they own Nigeria, by those who slaughter the innocent people of southern Kadunna, sack TorTiv, and are un-apologetically seeking to dip their Koran in the ocean; is that the nation they seek to make one evaporates. We can keep seeking for patriotism where none exist or we can ditch a collapsing behemoth.

.

Did you say the Biafran war sowed the seed of seperation?

No sir! We were never united!
We were forced into "one" by demons in human flesh led by Mr. Luggard!

The Biafran war was a proof that the so called amalgamation was the hand work of wicked men.

The continous killing of Biafrans in Northern Nigeria till date, makes it mandantory for us to draw our boundaries.

We are not, but when one of the "culture and belief" has to do with slaughtering the peoples of other culture and belief at the slightest provocation, then we must split.

I cannot build a nation with Jihardists.

It is as simple as that.

You are even taking it too far!

How do the "one" Nigerianists expect me to work in one purpose with Jihardists up North?

I hate their ways and they not only hate not only my ways but also me as a person.

They aspire to conquer and snuff life out of me, and I am supposed to keep quiet and keep wishong they dont come, all because we are "one" Nigeria!

Nonsense!

I don't want to bring religious prejudice into this issue, but there's no way, we can divorce the current security challenge in the world (Nigeria inclusive) from religion. Please read Genesis 16, pay attention to verse 12.»»»Genesis 16:12.... He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be
against everyone and everyone's hand against him,
and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
««« My question is this: should we separate along RELIGIOUS line or along TRIBAL line or along GEO-POLITICAL line, if we separate along tribal line, are we going to chase away people who are from other tribe, currently living with us.? Everyone of us is consumed with greed, selfishness, nepotism and bad instinct, no one is different. We can only move forward, if we change within. We are the enemies of our own lives.
